  1. Some of the early Frontiers also had 31.. They are somewhat sought after being they have locker options and are the correct width for an Xterra.
  2. LOL, I just love to tinker with stuff. That X is going to make a wave in the X forums... it will hit the web sometime around January. .................................................................................................. Found the old headlights from the red 95...
  3. I have a few pitmans laying around. I am not sure what happened to the other setup we were talking about. I must have given it away without knowing...
  4. The intercooler would have been a little easier to locate down there. The priority of the project is to decrease the lag. This configuration cuts the amount of intercooler ducking by about 70%. This engine has a 7.8 to 1 compression from factory. Any idea I can come up with to get the boost to amp up faster is being entertained. I was thinking supercharger for many years but it doesn't compensate for the altitude like a turbo will. And... when this engine takes a crap it makes it much easier to shoehorn a VH45 under the hood. ................................................................................................... Simon, interesting enough this rig is next.. It is currently on 33's and will be lower on 35's when done.
  5. Those are from wildhorses4x4 and are for an Early Bronco. Had them laying around from a 95 Pathy I built in the past. My Favorite Bronco coils are from James Duff. They just worked the best.. http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/category/bronco_coil_springs http://www.jamesduff.com/eb/suspension_components.html
  6. The idea was to see how reasonable I could build a Nissan. Two door Pathys can be found on Craigslist for under a grand here in Colorado. I love the ability to cut out the rear wheelwells on a 2 door. Being it is so low the rear end really doesn't need much. I may hit the junkyard for some lower links and use them on the top to make the rear links play together better. This truck was built with as a mild trail rig that could get through some hard spots if needed.
  7. Thanks! Ya it will probably be a couple years before I head back to Gone Moab for the whole week. Being it is close I may hit a couple days here and there with local wheelin buds. I think you need to save up for a Solid Axle conversion... The factory steering was kicking your butt!
  8. I have the stock turbo setup laying here too.. Less lag and enough turbo to make these 440cc injectors work is the goal. Also have nistune and a couple more goodies to play with. I can push these turbos to 400 horse if wanted.. and no firewall modifications needed..
  9. Sorry... should probably have a straight on pic of the front skid... makes it look jacked up. A little work to go on the bumper, however the neat parts of it are here.
  10. Some basic pics of the front axle swap. It has a HP44 up front... Here a person can see the Tcase hangs lower than the radius arms..
  11. The engine is out of an 86 300zx turbo. I like the VG30et being it has more head bolts and can take more boost than the VG30DETT. However the turbos are from a DETT .. Those will be next... have a couple more days of fabbing to go before pics will show.. However here is a video I made for a bud a few weeks back. I have since then changed where the intercooler will be... http://s561.photobucket.com/albums/ss55/nissansas/lowblo/?action=view&current=100_1521.mp4
  12. Here it sets in the driveway before the engine/bumper mods started.. That rear end is "STOCK" factory everything! I did however cut out the wheelwells about 2.5 inches.. Those wheels and tires should look really familiar! The frame height is about 17 inches...
  13. Put the radiator in the bumper... giving more room for the intercooler.. The intercooler will set where the radiator once did. No pics mounted yet, however it is a "two in one out" type cooler with a homebrew aluminum shroud and two 1200 cfm fans. These fans will kick on at 3psi..
  14. Ryan is a total ass hat.. Here is the old red rig. At the time I had to many projects and one HOA.. Something had to give.
  15. The Calmini kit works fine. The problem is everyone has their own ideas or budgets on how it should be built. Their build is based on Rancho 44044's minus the second leaf. The steering on their rig is also on purpose being full high steer only gets in the way on the pitman arm. By connecting the drag link to a high steer arm on the passenger knuckle a guy eliminates a bit of bump steer. However a guy bypasses a bunch of heartache by leaving the tierod position alone. The holes are big for a reason... the shackle goes at an angle through the hole. It will not fit through otherwise. I have to admit, I didn't use the jig either (plasma torch), but this kit designed for a fella that doesn't have 10K or more in tools. This kit will really piss off a rookie! Chalk it off as a learning experience. And... do yourself a favor and never weld the parts permanently until you absolutely know they are in a good position. I would post pics of my build here but it would just confuse the situation being I did none of the above. However it is easy enough to send a PM over on roninwheelers...
  16. Here is a pic of that guy taking that pic.. Going the other way on same obstacle..
  17. Usually the broken rig on the trail is the one with the case of beer. These folks normally block the trail for everyone else and tend to leave half the mess behind for someone to pick up. With that said I think we all know our limits. Beer tends to wear me out if consumed throughout the day! When everyone is around the campfire talking smack about the trip I am off in some happy spot sawing logs. Personally I have a better time if the "wobbly pops" are left for the stories that will be told around the fire. Plus as the day goes on they sound better and better soaking in a nice cold ice chest.
  18. Had the pacsetters.... no power until 3000 rpm or so. Now I have Thorleys, even power throughout rpm band. They actually do better (than the pacesetters) up and through the Eisenhower tunnel. I push this little 3 liter fairly hard at 7K feet plus. The difference is night and day. You pay for what you get.....
  19. OH the pain of dealing with Hitachi axles. Love the axle, not into pain....
  20. Heck guys, just cut your truck in half and tube the back half... fixes it! Kiddin I read somewhere that Nissan made the frames using metal from two suppliers? It was something like that. Anyway, some of the frames rot and some don't because of this.
  21. Local Colorado = Colorado Website
  22. The one and only supercharger is mine... Lee put his pathy down. He now has one sweet Focus Turbo! I think he has put the Nissan book up on the self for now. Times were good while they lasted!
  23. You don't know how close that is to becoming a reality..... 2 Nissan buds and I are really crunching some numbers. With a little luck you may see some neat parts in the future.... :X roninwheelers <----That is my local group of buds. Feel free to pull the chair up and hang out!
