  1. I have the KM2. Its great for crawling on wet rocks, not so good in the mud. I find the sips are too close to each other and it always turns slick somehow. But that's completely my personal opinion. Have you looked at DC Crusher? Hahaha... Looks like it can pedal you through the mud or water, hahaha... Its your own preference after all,
  2. What about the narrow TSL tires? My friend has a set on his xterra, 33's. Did well in the mud, clean really well, and didn't have to trim too much
  3. Looks good, what lamps do you have on the roof basket? Vision X?
  4. I've got PIAA 520 and it never lets me down... its been submerged in mud and water and everything is completely sealed and clean. Most of the time, water comes in from the opening where the bulb is inserted and that kills the light. But never had problem with PIAA. If you gonna submerge it in water, triple check all the connectors are water proof. As for the PIAA 510, my friend had the same model mounted on his FJ bumper. Its brighter than the halogen headlamp for sure, but not as bright as the 520s. I think its because I've got ion fog yellow on the 520 that uses more wattage. For PIAA with that price, I think its very decent
  5. Thanks for posting it up, Andrew! Its awesome!
  6. Steve, are you going to make tiny holes or small openings so that in case of mud crossing, its easier to wash off the mud that gets trapped above the skid plate without removing the entire structure... and heat will be able to escape through the skid plate into the outside rather than get trapped and go to the cabin... just my thought,
  7. Same here on the passenger side... what does this limiting strap do?
  8. I have the AC Lift and I can't say anything about OME setup. I think strut spacer is more for aesthetic reason. I don't have the spacer and its working fine. Without the spacer, the rear end is slightly higher than the front end by approximately 0.5-1". Then you get the tow truck/ drag race look. But I can live with it... As for wheel spacer, people use it to push the tire out so as not to rub the strut. You'll need it if you wanna run 265/70/16. I don't think it will rub inside the fender, but don't trust me on this one. As for topping out, it happens a lot with mine (AC setup) and almost on everything, hahaha... so I just gotta drive real slow on the bumps and potholes. I get used to it. Good luck with the lift, post pictures!
  9. Holy crap... where do you live? Lol...
  10. Opps... my bad... 265/75R16 is a 32" tire. I guess since 265/70R16 is a 31", I know a guy who runs that size without rubbing at stock height on older R50. Tire-to-strut clearance is quite tight. Even if it rubs, its just very minor like what Edwin mentioned. Its up to you.
  11. No real lift... I'm assuming you are still at stock height? I'd go with the 255/70R16. I had BFG KM2 255/70/R16 when I was stock with sagging coils and it never rubbed on the road and off the road. The 265/70R16 is a 32" tire. I think it might rub without the suspension lift when doing full turn. As well, I think you'll need new rims with 3.75" backspacing if you wanna go with the 32". Otherwise the top of the tire will be in contact with the struts...
  12. I got mine from courtesy parts in December 2008. Its the rubber floor mats with the word Pathfinder on them, four pieces in total. I can't find them on the courtesy parts anymore... maybe try calling them?
  13. yeah... we do. *Nudge Rod*... Did you take the pics. at the wings meet three weeks ago?
  14. Wouldn't the springs be the same from 96-2004? The strut mount might be different as pointed out by 180sx...
  15. I think the springs and shocks will fit 1996-2004 Pathfinders, but the struts will only fit 2002-2004 ones. But I might be mistaken. When I was shopping for struts, here is the KYB part numbers that I found from autopartsway or summit racing: 96-98 R50 uses #335015 and #335016 99-01 R50 uses #335030 and #335031 02-04 R50 uses #335032 and #335033 http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=25209&view=&hl=struts&fromsearch=1
  16. For the front end, I go with the KYB struts and there's not much you can do about topping out. I haven't come across longer travelling struts, but I might be mistaken. As for the shocks, I've heard great stuff about Bilstein.
  17. Bottoms out? And not topping out? I installed the AC lift last month. The front end will top out and not bottom out. The rear end does neither and is working fine even though I'm using Pro Comp that is about two inches shorter than the RS9000XL.
  18. Welcome to the club! I live in Markham and I drive a silver 2000 pathy with stickers and speed holes on the fender. You gonna have a great time on NPORA and your truck looks mint!
  19. Same here - condominium rule. If I do any work or clean the car, neighbors will give me a funny look, that dirty stare. That's why I'm parked facing the wall and did my oil change at like 2 in the morning.
  20. I think there will be variations from year to year. Nissan engineers might get bored and decide to put different type of cluster gauge, but the bulbs and the locations should be pretty much the same. Good luck with that!!!
  21. That's about 100 km/h... I'm doing 2800 rpm all day long, standard transmission, 3.3L and tire size of 255/70/16.
  22. VLA416, I had the same experience too on 401 earlier this year, about 40km west of Kingston, between Kingston and Toronto. I was going at 100 km/h, 2wd, on a lightly-snow covered road. Next thing I know, I fishtailed to the right, counter-steered a couple of time, and in the end decided to aim for the middle ditch that separates east and west bound. By then, I spun 180 (now faced the opposite direction that I initially went for) and entered the ditch sideway. Got into 4wd, and drove out to Adam's, hahahaha... To cut the story short, every time I see snow on the highway, no matter how thin or thick it may get, I switch to 4wd and go for 80 km/h. I'm driving with mudtires, so I get even less traction on ice. You can get away with 2wd like Adam said, but I'm not gonna take the chance. I was pretty lucky that the other vehicles were behind me and not beside me, otherwise I would have caused a major accident. I also go easy on the gas pedal and use engine brake wherever possible instead of the brake pedal (that's what they did in ice road truckers, hahaha...). If I have to go for the brake, I tapped on the brake twice to get me to a slower speed before going for a full brake. I try not to activate the ABS because it will get me sliding everywhere.
