The main bumper frame fits almost perfectly over the R50 frame horns with just a little tweaking, so I used that as a starting point by welding the bumper to those frame horns. I then got to work on fabricating brackets to tie the bumper in to the factory bumper mounts and the tow hook mounts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I finally got started this week on a front bumper project I’ve been planning for a while. As I’m sure you all know, there’s not much out there for aftermarket bumper options. After doing a lot of research on the various measurements of stuff made for other platforms, I decided to pull the trigger on trying a rock crawler tube bumper for a TJ Wrangler. I picked this up for $235 from Amazon. First thing was to get all the old stuff off and out of the way. I rerouted the lines to my transmission cooler and moved the mounting location up a bit. Hey that's my car! The Regulus (QX4 equivalent)! I'm sure there will be a few wreckers in NZ with that bumper/grill guard combo available. However, they won't be cheap. We get properly shafted for car parts here...

It’s still a work in progress, but I do plan to do something to cover up the lower ends of the fenders a bit and tie it together visually.

Looks like thing might have stalled a bit on this thread but I am interested in both front and rear bumpers and the skids too. I live in Colorado And would be .down for a road trip to pick it all up? Heck, I could make a weekend of it and throw down with some shop labor to help u out if needed. I got some skills even if you only need a strong back and a broom operator.?

Yea buddy sure was. There's a grill guard you could get that the lights attached to I'd love to have, but they run around 800bones new not counting shipping. I've never found one used so probably could get one cheaper if I could locate one. I got these from Croober.com a Japanese automotive site that specializes in factory OEM parts and wheels. For the PNW Pathfinders, yesterday started as the Silver Pathfinder Emporium & developed into a full on SwinGateFest 2019. Isn't Windrock near or in Tennessee? You could attend WENT Windrock this fall and wheel with a bunch of other Nissans! I always wanted to drive down to that event.

Update! Year: 1998 QX4 Lift: SF Creations 2" all around spacers Wheels: AR Outlaw 15x8 et-19(3.75"BS) Tires: 32x11.5r15 Falken Wildpeak AT3W Notes: I removed the useless and very rusty running boards. It rubbed on the front corner of the bumper at about 2/3 turn. Was able to get around for a couple days but used a heat gun on that corner and the raised liner areas. Needs more or trimming for off road clearance.

Today I picked up 600 lbs of steel plate...enough to make the initial 6 bracket sets...and some skids plates. I'm still debating whether that means front or mid skids. For sure, I plan to make a mid skid to match my front skid. There might be some other revelations along the way. For now, still focusing on the remaining V2 tweaks. I'm still dividing my time across several projects to build up some confidence using the plasma table. I've not fired it up for a few days, but this week I will be cutting out the brackets and other items for my rear(!) bumper, which I (finally!) started last week. The truck has been without a rear bumper for months now, and the goal is to have it done before CANVAZ. Lots of work left to do!
