For the PNW Pathfinders, yesterday started as the Silver Pathfinder Emporium & developed into a full on SwinGateFest 2019. Thanks to @02_Pathy &[mention=39745]stpickens[/mention] and his Dad for coming up from Portland. Also, thanks to[mention=32880]ferrariowner123[/mention] for just stopping by to hang out. Most of all, thanks to[mention=37543]TowndawgR50[/mention] for providing the venue, expertise, product development, hard work and good cheer! It really couldn’t have happened without him.

Finally all clean again!

I did this project in the summer, but just now decided to post it. Like many, my 03 had some rust creeping out from behind the fender flares in the back. Just like an iceberg, what you see on the surface is usually just a little taste of what’s lurking underneath. I decided the best course of action was to cut out all the bad metal and rebuild that section with fiberglass. I used fiberglass cloth and resin for the basic structural repair, then finished it off with tiger hair and body filler. Since this was a small project I decided to try 2k clear coat in a can for the first time, and I was very pleased with the results. It laid down nicely and was easier than getting out my compressor and spray gun. I lined the portion of the paint that is hidden under the flare with bedliner to help protect it in the future, so that’s why the paint at the edge of the wheel well looks a little rough in places. I made one small change to my rear suspension set up today. I switched out the original LR 9448 (installed with one coil cut) springs for the 9449’s. I think the ride height is perfect for what I want now. The 9449 is just a tad taller than the 9448 was with the top coil cut, but still shorter than the 9448 would be uncut...so basically the Goldilocks of lift for me, lol. I didn’t bother taking any pics because there really wasn’t anything new to see. I will say I’ve gotten really good at swapping rear springs, I had the whole thing done in maybe an hour tops! 100%, I also have 3 stickers so all in all I’d say I’m pushing 360 hp give or take a little because of the lift and tires. [emoji23]

The aluminium was mainly used for added support as the sheet metal underneath is not the most rigid. The bumper outline cut out holes were used as the template to drill.
