Yes, that should help. Ideally your ground should be to the body or straight to the negative terminal on the battery. Im thinking your current power source grounds to the dash frame resulting in interference from the radio and wiper electrical systems on the steering wheel, both of which potentially share a dashboard frame ground.

Thats most likely becuase of the cigarette lighter power source. CB's are sensitive and require dedicated ground and (+) for clear signal and the best transmission performance.

It's a real easy add on. Make sure and use a small drill bit for drilling your holes. Use a drimmel tool or a drill with a sanding stone to finish the job. Mr Cox 96R50-97JR50

When I was a kid, my Mom used to run a CB on our drives between KC & Dallas or Denver. It was a ton of fun, especially all the lingo. My Mom was a former racer & has a heavy foot so it was a lot of fun to see the truckers take care of “Mother Goose”(she drove a white Thunderbird). When I put a CB in my truck in 2003, I learned the cell phone had largely killed the CB. It was occasionally usefull in highway slowdowns/roadwork, but rarely & now Waze alone knocks it out of the park due to real time crowd sourcing regarding slowdowns, accidents, roadside vehicles & police.

@RainGoat @TowndawgR50 I'm having a shop break apart and rebuild my front struts and they're saying the OME 2928 are too long and they couldn't squeeze them into the strut, but I thought they'd work with the strut. Does that sound right for an '00 R50? All my research said they'd be fine... Here are the specific OME coils I got: Amazon

Okay. I have heated mirrors too. It's a rainy chilly day here and I turned on the rear defog. As I parked the car and was walking in, I turned back and checked the mirrors. They were warm and dry. So it heats them up too. Cool.

Looks great! One concern I have is that at times they blind me with on coming traffic. Is that because people don't install them correctly and they point up too much? Are there any laws in regard to angles and brightness? Just curious.... Thanks, Tomek
