WyKi
Hello I'm new to the forum I have just bought a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder V6 2WD white with wine interiors. It's Automatic. And well I want to put the 4x4 system on it.. How about do I go on that route? I've seen that the 4x4 one uses the same things as mine when the 4x4 isnt engaged. Am I correct? Thanks. Precise1
Welcome!! Converting to 4x4 can be done, but it is a lot of work and quite a few parts are required; you almost need a donor car... Steeevo did this years ago and has a thread here about it. B

DavefromOZ
G'day WyKi, welcome mate. Easiest way to convert to 4wd would be to sell the 2wd and buy what you want. I think it would probably even be cheaper in the long run too.

WyKi
Thanks for the reply guys... Yea I know it would take some parts to make it 4x4 but I dont mind doing it and a donor I could get for cheap around here. So I dont mind the task. Link to the thread? .. I also would like to know if I could take it offroad as is.. like if it's dry out and not muddy would i get stuck with it as is? or would it work good? I want to put a winch on the front and a lift kit so I imagine that would be a good investment now and on the long run while I make it 4x4. I'm gonna post up pics of it in these days.. just cant find my digicam's cable to connect it to the pc. Thanks again for the replys And I'm glad to join this forum as I've seen its got alot of info. nunya
Put er in the air a little for some added clearance, lock the back up and some good tires and go at it pre-runner style! Save up and go for solid axle swap right off the bat for converting to 4x4. Cuong Nguyen started out 2wd http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=17929 As did Steeevo as stated (wasn't lookign too hard to find a link to his truck, sorry. I'm bein a bit lazy) and here's a good place to look in general http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showforum=
WyKi
Locking it up in the back, how good is that while offroading dry/wet ? What locker do you guys recommend? And which lift kit should I start off with body or suspension? Thanks
Slashjt
Hi there! You should sell your Nissan and try to buy a 4x4 one.. it's way simpler, safer and in the long run, cheaper!
