New Puget Sound Pathfinder Owner

Hey there! This is a great forum. I have only owned my 95 XE V6 for a few weeks so I have been reading around and have gotten a lot of great info.

She is pretty much stock although she sits a bit higher than the other ones in the parking lot so maybe slightly oversized tires. I can't wait to put some new springs in the rear. I plan on going with after market torsion bars and UCA's. I really only plan on running 31's or maybe 32's if I can get them to fit. Any thoughts about quality yet resonably priced products out there?

My question is: I have read about backspacing and am a bit confused  My Pathy has those polished stock wheels. Not the "Legos". Do I have to buy new wheels just to lift the truck or will they have the proper backspacing for the new UCA's? Obviously I will get around to replacing them eventually, but I wasn't planning on new wheels being my first mod.

Any help or threads out there about this?

Thanks

yeah, like slick said. Your wheels won't be a problem, unless you are using the Trailmaster 4" suspension lift. But it sounds like you aren't, so no worries. 31's will actually fit on a stock truck if you reindex your T-Bars.(should be in the how-to section)

Superlift UCA's seem to be the way to go, they're a high-quality product at a decent price. There is probably about 50 threads on this topic, so it shouldn't be tough to find more info.

Welcome to the board!

Welcome Fish !! (ever see Barner Miller ? :D )

You are talking about the chrome steel wheels ? Hence refered to as chromies, they are 6" wide and have a 3.75" backspacing, or is it 3.25 ?? Cant remember...

Yes, they will fit fine with what you plan. You can squeeze 10.5x31" on them and your Pathy should accomodate that size just fine stock, but with decent suspension.

Try reindexing the torsion bars before you buy new ones. That write up is in the Garage/How To section. You may want to consider new taller/stiffer shocks...

Oh, BFG AT KO's are a good all around tire, but you'll have to mention what kind of driving you do... Look in Product Reviews, there is a thread there.

Make sure you post your questions in the Garage or Discussion by Model Year sections for maximum exposure.
