Help please

Hey so my pathfinder has been running rough at speed I’ve replaced timing belt injectors distributor spark plugs water pump all the good things to try to get it right triple checked timing sounds great at idle but bogs down if I hit the throttle under load was gonna do the fuel pump and fuel filter tomorrow was wondering what might be the problem I’ve tried checking codes on ecm but all it shows it a solid red light no change no matter what I do any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

did you time the dizzy warm or cold and with the throttle unplugged?

I just left it how it was seemed to be set right but I’ll double check should I do it while it’s warm?

Here's a link to the service manual. Page 196. basically warm, then hold no load 2k rpm for 2 minutes then check timing in N should be about 15 degrees +/- 2

Yes the engine must be warm and the idle set properly. Follow the procedure in the service manual.

Your distributor could be in 180 out. I would check that by pulling the No. 1 spark plug, checking that the piston is at TDC and your timing marks lined up properly.

 

The timing marks are on the front ring of the crank pulley. If you removed that and didn't mark the original position, that could be the problem. If you're an idiot like me, and you take things apart to clean them and forget to match mark them.....

 

The engine will run if the distributor is 180 out and also at 30... Not very well, and your symptoms seem to match my experience.
