maddmark1981
So I find that often the stick shift don't want to go into reverse sometimes and I'll have to let out the clutch in N and then engage clutch again and it will go... What's the deal with that? Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
Cwolf
Most likely because as reverse gear has no synchro it's just a matter of aligning the teeth.
PathyAndTheJets
Wait about 3 seconds with the clutch pressed before trying reverse. It takes a bit for the input shaft to stop, so it's not letting you into the non syncro gear.

Kingman
Normal. Double clutch, let the clutch out a hair, or go 1-2-R.
92Path_68CJ
Normal for most transmissions in my experiece. Non syncronized reverse gear. My Jeep grinds unless you shift into first, wait a second or two, then slowly go into reverse.
Slartibartfast
Yep, the gearbox in the Scout snow plow is the same way. If it won't go into reverse, I either let the truck roll slightly in neutral or slot it into first or second.
