PathfinderJA
Hi guys, been a member since last year when I bought my van but this is my frist post. I want to say thanks for all you unamed souls for inspiring my build. I call her Buggy, I found her last yearand beyond burnt out paint, she appears to have been in a time warp somewhere for the most part. 42,000 Miles, near perfect interior, besides a broken centre stack and some warped vents. All of that since replaced. This is how I found her. The body is straight, no repairs That gave way to this and now we're here: 3" body lift kit Just missing that centre piece on bonnet, which is on order. It fell out after spraying. PathfinderJA
The rims are some used and cleaned up and sprayed over 16" Tacoma/4 runner wheels. Tires are 265/75/16 Maxxis Bighorns at 25psi, filled with nitrogen that's dust on them I thought I had more time to post today. Will add more info and pics later or tomorrow hopefully. PathfinderJA
So some more pics. So I'll try and show how I found it, Then what pieces I replaced and then mods I added. THE BEGINNING: I saw it for sale at a great price and when I saw the pics I couldn't believe the condition, for a then 23 year old Pathy. These are the actually the sale pics and when I went to look at it, they were true. The paint was burnt out but the body was incredibly straight and free of rust or anything else. The interior was unbelievable. As I had mentioned, with the exception of heat warped a/c vents and a broken centre arm rest teh van was 100 complete and in what I think was great condition. It made me believe the 42,000 miles on the clock as original miles because the interior showed very little sign of use. The interior seats needed a good steaming but that was the least. Needless to say, I bought it on the spot. Edited August 26, 2015 by PathfinderJA
PathfinderJA
This Pathy became my insperation but others inspired me. I found as many pathy pics Google could find me. I wanted a little of everybodies. I'm sure some of yours made the list. I set forth to start fixing the little things that were wrong. I carried it right to my garage and told them to look it over. I wanted to change the usual suspects, hoses, plugs, water pump etc but they found some more things. Here is the complete list: All and all, not bad, considering the age and that it probably had not been serviced regularly. I also installed the OEM electronic shocks, so the soft and firm settings still work. So now she was moving around but still needed some work. here are some additional pics right after I purchased. Rear was soiled with what looked like oil, but nothing a good clean wouldn't mostly fix. Engine needs a wash The van had a spoiler at onme point but it clearly broke, leaving mismatching latches. I didn't like the spoiler option anyway so I set forth to find matching hinges
PathfinderJA
need to build something for the rear wiper to rest on. Looks like it had some sort of rest pad there that has since peeled off.Center console top needed. The whole centre console new was $350us + shipping on ebay. I decided to try source one locally. Still had the original sunroof shade Instrument cluster. Everything appear working here [thumbsup]The dash was crack free except for one real small area Edited August 26, 2015 by PathfinderJA

PathfinderJA
Putting in the tail lightsNow the HID was completely a spur of the moment wow decision. My guy sells the HiD Low & High bean conversion kit. He said it wouldn't take long to install, it really didn't, about 15mins... and the results are jaw dropping bright. I don't know if it's that Buggy's lens is actually old school and made from glass vs plastic but they are really bright in person. My pics will not do it justice. Probably the best investment in the project i've made thus far.ballast neatly packaged behind air boxinstall on the other sidePut ballasts again neatly beside battery. Will have to get a longer coolant bottle run off however.

PathfinderJA
So with the part of the project finished where I replaced everything that needed to be replaced it was time to start added some funn stuff... beyond the horn, installed some sway away bars voltage stabilizer kit 3" body lift kit from 4x4parts.com (this was the most recent mod, it sat down in the closest for nearly a year) The radiator drop down kit, which my installer didn't install because he said he didn't understand how it worked Various poly bushings all around. Some still sitting to be installed. Bought an original sunroof cover, but have never used it
PathfinderJA
QUick break.. this is Buggy with my daily driver. The Wife and the weekend mistress. Have to say though... Now I prefer ddriving the truck to driving the car. It's a Toyota Marx X in case anyone is wondering. They look so good together. As you could tell here, The burnt out paint actually fit the old girl. She was my Old truck and it just added character to her.
