Precise1
Like it all says, do I need to make some for all the gauge pillar buyers? Does anyone have a source for any already? I'll go into the retaining clips tomorrow... Thanks, B
Precise1
Here are sources I have found... http://www.nissport.com/catalog/product.asp?ProductCode=NS-2100 http://www.coleparmer.com/buy/product/76990-threaded-adapter-stainless-steel-1-8-female-bspt-1-8-male-npt-yo-31830-60.html http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-2269/overview/ B
ahardb0dy
Another source, for a 1/8" female NPT X 1/8 " male BSPT $4.99 in brass http://www.mcmaster.com/#cadinlnord/4860k141/=l5j2ry Edited January 23, 2013 by ahardb0dy
Precise1
Well, unless someone needs a custom T, it seems like it is covered. Anyone need a T to run the stock sensor and a 1/8 NPT sensor simultaneously? Bueler? B
sewebster
I think I already put together my whole BSPT/NPT tee/adapter set up. Though I should find where I put it now that the pillars are on the way...
JamesRich
That first link is pretty nice, ports to spare! Will it fit with headers though? Not sure about the DT headers but with the Experimental Engineering headers I had to change out my factory sending unit for a light and a gauge, to a smaller sensor for just a light so the headers would clear. sewebster
Yikes, those stainless ones are pricy! Though I probably spent that much in gas driving all over the place finding the right parts...
Precise1
Yeah, that's steep for a chunk of stainless hex stock with some threads and taped holes... I just looked and its pretty tight in there. Depending on what exhaust you run, some designs could be problematic. I have an idea about a flexible Y line so I'll look that up now. Precise1
Ok, this is what I have come up with so far for off the shelf set up to run the factory oil pressure switch and a sensor for an aftermarket gauge simultaneously... This in the block for $7. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/EDE0/265220/N2033.oap?ck=Search_N2033_-1_3532&pt=N2033&ppt=C0248 A 1" or 2" 1/8 NPT threaded pipe for $1. http://www.mcmaster.com/#steel-pipe-fittings/=l5vyv6 A 1/8-27 NPT cross for $9. http://www.mcmaster.com/#steel-pipe-fittings/=l5w0og A 1/8-27 NPT plug for $1. http://www.mcmaster.com/#steel-pipe-fittings/=l5w2n9 And I'm having a hard time finding a male 1/8-27 NPT/female 1/8-28 BSPT so far. Found it. 1/2 way down the document, in the top center. #50NT-02-02 1/8-27 1/8-28 http://www.nudraulix.com/PDF/Adapters%20in%20BSP%20,%20DIN,%20JIS,%20Komatsu,%20Kobelco%20and%20Chinese%20Metric/BSPP,%20BSPPOR%20and%20BSPT/BSPT%20Catalog.pdf http://www.nudraulix.com/ Anyone interested? Pricing might be cheaper with 10 or more. Let me know and I'll call. With those pieces and maybe a 1/8-27 NPT male to female 45* or 90* elbow, anyone should be able to clear their exhaust and filter and still have both gauges. $20 so far with one piece to be found and priced. Not too Bad... B Edited January 24, 2013 by Precise1
Precise1
This might work well for some people, but the clocking of the side hole when it is tight could be a problem. adamzan
Bringing this back up. Anyone set this up yet?
ahardb0dy
what does the stock oil pressure sender go to anyway? Their isn't a gauge in the gauge cluster right? Does it just trigger a light? If so I wouldn't bother with a "tee" I would just eliminate the stock sender and plumb the aftermarket oil pressure gauge directly to the block. But that is just me, I did the same thing in my 90 sentra, picked up a compression to BST adapter and ran the tubing from the mechanical autometer gauge right to where the stock electric sender used to be. I know some people prefer electric gauges and don't want to run a tube with oil into their cabs but I haven't had any problems with the nylon tubing so far and they also sell SS braided lines for those that want something stronger than nylon tubing. Just my 2 cents on the subject.
tmoore4512
My thoughts exactly...Now to just find the adapter...so I can install my sending unit...
tmoore4512
Success!Installed the Autometer sending unit in place of the stock idiot light switch using a "Glowshift 1/8 NPT female to 1/8 BSPT male" adapter from Amazon...Works fantastic. Now have a working oil pressure gauge in my triple pillar that accurately shows me pertinent information...(Yea yea, I know....the argument about accuracy with mechanical vs electric gauges...) Precise1
Better than what you had before regardless! Thanks for the info, Bud! B
tmoore4512
No, thank you for the heads up that I would need the adapter!Saved some time in a tight area trying to figure out why it would not thread in!Haha
