ahardb0dy
I'm looking for a male/female type screw together weatherproof connector that I can mount in my roof for my lights, looking to see if anyone has any recommendations, prefer a metal connector, and also would be good if I could put my own wires into the plugs. Slartibartfast
You might look at the plugs used for hobby R/C batteries. I'm sure a Tamiya or similar battery hookup could handle a couple lights.
JamesRich
I've been looking for some bulkhead connectors too for when I put lights on top. I talked to a friend of mine that builds fire trucks and he mentioned this place. http://www.austinhardware.com/ I haven’t had time to search their web site yet. He also told me that when they need a lot of wires through the roof they just use a grommet and silicone! I'm not putting silicone on my roof. We need bulkhead connectors that can handle some decent amperage. Most that I find are for small gauge wire. James
ahardb0dy
I found the perfect connector, went thru their whole process online of picking out what I wanted and got to the end and it said, just for one half it would be like $77 !!! I was a little surprised !! so I'll keep looking, this is what I was looking at: http://www.milnec.com/drawings/ps/ps-series-catalog.pdf
silverton
what's wrong with butt splice connectors that come with heat shrink wrapping? it's what I used when I did the hardbody headlight swap.
Harbinger
What about anderson connectors? I know they offer a few panel mount options, and the smaller connectors are good up to 45 amps. They are a bit spendy, but I really like them. www.powerwerx.com
ahardb0dy
I need a plug with at least 4 terminals, want to keep it clean by having all connections in one. I know of Anderson connectors but I think they only have 2 terminals. Thanks
Harbinger
The anderson connectors clip together in whatever config you need. I believe their larger panel connector does 8 connections, so up to 4 sets of lights. I use them on my electric trike and to extend a charge connections on my motorcycle. They do sell a water proof plug that does 4 wires/connections, but it isn't a panel option. I haven't found them hard to water proof either. Get one with a few extra terminals so your set if you add things later. I'm book marking this link for later. James
ahardb0dy
I'll have to e-mail them to see if they have a less expensive line of products.
tmoore4512
At a former job I had we used this brand and type of connector. I have a female end of one three conductor weatherproof unit, but cannot find a male to go with it....
