mo3chang
I need help asap cause i'm a little worried that so much is going wrong at once. First off i checked the plugs and fuses behind the cluster and the radio and the brake light and they all seem to be plugged in. Problems all happened at the same time or at least i noticed the brake light at the same time The car seems to loose power when i remove the key because the radio looses its presets on a side not the the radio only gives audio to the rear right of the vehicle and its been like that for years. associated with the radio the clock is blank it lights up but its stays blank. then my driver side brake light doesn't light up when i have my foot on the brake but it lights up when the lights are on i witnessed the clock and radio go out i was parked listening to radio and looked at the clock because it was late and then i started the clock and it seemed everything fried any help would be appreciated
mo3chang
as far as mods it has just brush guard and one aftermarket horn, only the airbox without the snail looking resonator and the ac was removed due to an accident where i had to weld in a new support and swap fenders and grille
1991terrano
sounds like you have a bad earth some where id take it to an auto electrician and have them look at it, i had a similar problem in an r31 skyline no brakelights clock or dash lights, the main earth from the back of an aftermarket cd player came out

edicer2
i would tear it all apart and check the ground and constont power(use a volt tester with a light to check) for the radio....the constant power should always be there if it goes away when u turn the key off u have a wiring problem. I dont think the radio is having a ground problem because it wouldnt turn on maybe look for split wires or something. The radio clock lcd could of burnt out maybe try and get a different radio to test. the radio kind of sounds like its junk if its only going to the right rear or your other speakers are bad or your amp is bad. I would just get a aftermartket deck from a freind to try + a wireharness for 10 bucks. I dont know about the tail light maybe check the headlight switch they have been know to have weird stuff like that happen. also use the volt tester and also check the connections really good inside of there
mo3chang
yup i plan to tear it all apart again with some more optimism and see if i could find a soultion. Its not the clock on the radio its the clock on gauge cluster. the rest of the cluster works except for the clock. The amp on these are built into the head unit right? because i remember i tried looking for one couple years back and no luck. btw whats the box under the radio whats behind the plastic cover. i'll try and get some pics of it later. i'm gonna go get it smogged and i need piece of pipe to replace the muffler that fell of atleast to pass emmisions here in cali and thats if the tester isn't all anal about it not being the original muffler. Most likely gonna go to downtown LA to get it all done since no one gives a damn about it over there
adamzan
You have the stock radio? There should be one amp below the radio and one in the cargo area. It really sounds like you have some blown fuses have you checked all of them to make sure they're not blown. Sometimes you gotta look at them real hard. edicer2
waht adam said! and as far as the clock in the cluster that could have burned out or isnt cliped in right on the back i remember that clip being a b i t c h to unclip and get back in. try a different cluster from a junkyard

edicer2
its inside one of the side panels i think passenger side but not sure
silverton
Dunno where amp is on the 91, if you have the 8 speaker audio system, it's in the passenger side rear quarter. As for everything that's going on with your truck, the stereo is giving out. I had recent issues on my truck, the previous owner was clearly a crack head. the install was done with wire nuts, and from the looks of it, just random wires were grouped together. Most of the interior stuff didn't work when I got the truck and thought I had a wiring nightmare on my hands. I rewired the botched harness with stock plugs, and everything is peachy now! unccpathfinder
i was thinking...burned out brake light wire in the bulb...replace and see if that fixes it...next change the fuse labeled radio...it'll keep the clock, radio and i believe cigarette lighter from working... mo3chang
as far as the brake lights i fixed them by changing the whole plug itself where the bulb goes in because when i shoved a tester in there it worked but not when i put a new bulb in<BR> My question is wtf is this thing its not in the chiltons manual I'm getting a cheapo/decent radio and a set of speakers in the mean time because as you can see my stereo is baller those speakers came out of a boom box just for testing since my old ones had dissentegrated . i assume i have no amp per say its just built into the head unit and i only have the four speaker stereo but idk. you can actually see how i bipassed the music only on the left side by running my own speaker wire that was when i was 15 but now its just hanging out its using the stock speaker lines till i figure this out. i want it legitly fixed not rhow it was rigged befor by just using the left channel to power the right

mo3chang
testing and changing the fuses didn't help with the radio or the clock i messed with the amp, radio, meter and every other fuse but no luck with the clock / radio thing
mo3chang
still trying to scrounge up some money for an after market deck and maybe some speakers cause i three inch speakers in all four slots but they are there just for testing i bought an ebay wire harness for the install. IDK if my pathy has an amp or not its a 92 se pathfinder four speakers total. The break lights i just changed the bulbs with LED bulbs and new sockets the old ones were a little oxidized and the bulb grease had seemed to be more havoc than anything. bulb lights 1.15 the pair from ebay and sockets 2.50 also from ebay i just had to wait twelve days for them to come in The clock i'm still stumped on Is there anyway to test constant power or any remedies to correct it i replaced all the relays with spare ones i had just to check
