97nissan
Its a cheap filter from ebay, $17.95 free shipping. Came with the MAF adapter so i thought what the hell

nissaneric
I would LOVE a soundclip on that filter. is it noisy while cruising? and any gains that you can feel, or mpg gains? thanks, and looks good!
97nissan
Well i havent noticed much roar inside the vehicle but when the hood is up and manually reving it, i can really hear it roar... It does seem deeper with the exhaust when cruising. As for the mpg, i just filled the tank so ill see and reply back on that

97nissan
Yes im thinkin the same . Thanks, your truck is pretty badass, wish i had more funds for more mods... slowly but surely though
Rick13
Don't mean to jump in on your convo, but I think the Toyo MT is a hot tire. If they were a bit cheaper, I would have definitely jumped at them over my GY DuraTracs.
97nissan
Its all good man, yeah they are pricey. Thank god for this Les Scwab credit account i have
SilverPath
Nice Aircleaner, looks cleaner then my install. Always meant to make a mount for mine but its still bungee corded up.
180sx
I have that same eBay filter!! Although mine is blue. Very nice. I left the bottom of my air box in the truck to support it though. Jose
97nissan
Yeah its a pretty cool filter for only $18 on ebay. I thought about your idea with the stock air box but did this instead. Made a brace out of a strip of steel. Drilled a hole on each end and bolted one end to a hole above the radiator and the other end on the clamp on that intake tube. looks pretty clean to me and a cheap fix. here it is
Howie
So with that MAF adapter, are you using the stock MAF sensor? --Howie
97nissan
Yep same MAF sensor, the adaptor fits perfect to it with a gasket it comes with

97nissan
Go for it 180sx. Works pretty good, holds it up alot better than it laying down on the wheel well
ahardb0dy
I put a K&N on my 94 pathfinder and was able to bend one end of the factory filter mount and attach it to a longer bolt that goes thru the filter adapter that I half made, but my mount goes down to the inner fender, different year trucks but you may be able to do something similar, not currently using the filter in the pic as it was very loud, now have a open element K&N but no pic of the filter I'm using now yet, pic below:
nissaneric
any update on seat-of-the-pants feel and mpg? thanks man, looks good with the brace you made
97nissan
ahardbody, that is a clean looking brace you made! im definately gonna check mine out and see if i can do some thing similar. Nissaneric, well i havent really seen much of mpg increase if any but it really roars around 2000-3000 rpm and then screams up hill at about 4500 rpms. Im really liking the way it sounds though and seems to not have as much hesitation when shifting anymore. But if you do this, i wouldnt plug that little vac hose with anything cause on mine it seemed to not breathe as good and too the roar away. Hope this helps
kidscollegefund
I did my hubs (and front axles/boots) last week. After about 250 miles, seeing about a 2 mpg improvement on my 30 mile daily commute. Steering feels free-er too. Worthwile improvement for sure.
