Cars are just overweight hunks that are good for people moving. Every company is trying to meet MPG statndards and what not. I used to have a 88 Accord. Carb'd. Weighed less than 2800lbs (I think it was 2400?). Fit four comfortably. Got 42MPG in that thing. 42!! Accord now? ove 3300lbs and barely gets 30MPG. I got into an accident on the old accord, minor damage, got fixed. Get into an accident in a new one? Scrap. Or costs a fortune to get back and the airbags going off everywhere and all that nonsense.
