rear door 'opens'

whenever i hit a pot hole or a speed bump too hard the rear door light turns on and off. it happens a lot then doesnt happen for like a week. would this be an electrical problem or a problem with the door latch?

Somewhere I belive there is a thread about cleaning the contacts or something with the switch. Been a while since I seen it and I ain't in a searching mood...

You need to space out the striker plate with a couple washers under it.

You have a rear door light? My hatch just lights up the door ajar light. drove me nuts one day when I noticed it was on, opened all four doors and shut them, with no change on the light. Figured the hatch would have its own like like the tire carrier.
