fuel tank capacity on 2001 pathy

ok so ive been looking all around all over the net and i'm trying to find out exacltly what the gas tank capacity is so that i can get my scan gauge right. i have seen in some places that its 19ga 20ga or 21.1ga does anyone know. thanks

I think its the 21.1 gal. Ive hard that go around more then a few times.

All R50 Pathfinders are equipped with a 21 1/8 gallon fuel tank. Approximately 21.1 gallons.

 

The most I've ever been able to squeeze into mine, even after running around for a week on the fuel light, is 20.4 gallons though.

Yeah, a little bit...Of course, I hit the dollar limit TWICE on that fill up. $4.98/gallon. $50 limit. Jerks.

thanks all. after looking through. I didnt have the manual for my car. but the main reason i ask is from everywhere that i saw online after running for a couple of days on empty when i fill up its only like 19 ga so all this time i figured i had a 20 ga tank. I just hadnt been daring enough to try and run it out. but again thanks

ya the most i ever got in mine is 19 gallons, i wonder if its designed to show low on the gauge even with several gallons still at the bottom of the tank, or if the breather hose at the top of the tank hangs down low (like in the controversial jeep wrangler gas tanks)

so today i ran it to the point of sputtering and pulled into the station to get gas and filled up with 20.09 so i guess that last gallon is unusable but well now i know

Not a wise move to run it empty on any vehicle with fuel injection.

Even though you have a fuel filter.

I have a dual fuel (LPG as well) and I don't let it go far past the fuel light warning.

Usually a fill from warning light, requires about 65 litres.
