burning out UCA bushings

I just finished burning out my UCA bushings so I can replace them with new ones.

However, there is still a bit of melted rubber inside the bushing holes.

 

Any tips on getting this out?

i kept burning mine and then it became an ash deposit and i scrapped it out with a rag fairly easily

Use a knife and carve/scrape it off.

looks like fun!

you could goto a machine shop and have them CLEAN it with a ream. should be able to do it by hand and only be a few bucks if any.

check your local hardware shop for a wire wheel that is used for cleaning out the insides of tubes. hopefully you can put it on your drill and scrub the rest of the rubber out.

think ill do a combination of all of these, wire wheel sounds like the best finishing option.
