gager2002
Before I crawl underneath, can anyone tell me the size of both the fill and drain plugs. I can tell they are allen hex's but they look to big for what I have now, so I need to go buy a set that will fit. Thanks guys. Richard
Simon
They're half inch, square. As in, a half in ratchet fits perfectly.

Precise1
X3 Make sure you remove the FILL plug first. If you have trouble getting it out, draining it first is ill advised. Have you read the TSB about 'overfilling' the tranny? You have GL4 oil, correct? B
gager2002
Yes I have GL-4. Thanks for looking out for me. I did glance under there, and thought I saw a hex, so thank you on that.
MY1PATH
dont forget the factory located the M/T fill plug to low and you need to add more either by jacking 1 side, pulling the floor shifter or makning an over fill petcok.
Brendan
The plug is actually 13mm. A 1/2 ratchet will fit, but be a little loose. Road salt has rusted the crap out of mine, so I wanted to be careful. I got this kit: Drain plug kit
