NorPath
I found a box under the passenger seat and its got over thirty cables connected to it. When I opened it, my first thought was -What the..! It contained a electronics board, filled with components. Looks important.. Can anyone tell me what this box is? MY1PATH
Basically It Controls your Engines fuel mixture and monitors some of its condition and some of your emissions systems.Your 88 may appear to be Carburated due to its round style airbox on top to the engine but it actually has 2 injectors right above the throttle body and therefore requires an ECU to control them

GrimGreg
That is for checking codes; if a sensor on your engine finds a problem it will send a signal code to the ECU, in Diagnosis mode the ECU will flash te LEDs so that you can read the numeric code and figure out what is FUBAR. MY1PATH
Heres how to make use of that switch to check / clear old error codes or to find out why the CEL is on (check engine light) http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...;hl=diagnostics
Precise1
Just yank it out. All it does is add weight and slow you down!! JUST KIDDING MAN!!! Be gentle with it, it's required! Now, put the lid back on it, tighten the screws up and leave it alone. B
