navygz19
Wow...what's crazy about it is that the small tree may have seemed so trivial when approaching it too. We've all passed an obstacle like that, and what happened to him could really happen to anyone.

unccpathfinder
that would really suck...esp if he would have tracked a lil bit more to the left b/c the family jewels wouldnt be as valuable...out of all the mud holes i've tromped through I never thought of a tree coming through the firewall... k9sar
at the last noreaster, one of the rigs impaled on a log in a mudhole. Apparetnly, someone, at some time, had thrown logs into the hole tryign to get traction or a way across. In this case, it went through the marker light and was stopped by the bumper and other metallic things in that area. Was exciting to watch since the way through the hole was to point and floor it. It stopped abruptly (to say the least)

Mookie
Very lucky indeed! This happened on the Calgary Jeep Association New Years day run here in the Waiparous area. Unfortunately, a few months earlier we had a similar accident where a a small tree limb went through the windshield, through the passenger seat and impaled a little girl who was riding in the back seat. Luckily her father (the driver) was trained in first aid and she has since recovered.
Pezzy
Holy crap Mookie, that is scary. I have to ask though, how fast was the driver going?
Mookie
The little girl incident? I'm not sure how fast they were going as we didn't get any more details. It stayed off the boards so not much was known.
