Oliver
My strange problem of the battery light and brake light flickering on/off together has been traced to the check relay under the hood. What does this relay do? Where can I get a new one?
RedPath88
First... your sure its not simply your alternator begining to fail? Not sure which relay that is without going out and looking or digging out my FSM, but if it is a standard relay you can get a replacement at any auto parts store. 88pathoffroad
Ditto, the alternator will light both lights when it goes out.

BobJr
My strange problem of the battery light and brake light flickering on/off together has been traced to the check relay under the hood. What does this relay do? Where can I get a new one? My 95 Pathfinder is doing the same thing, the alternator charges fine but the brake and battery light stay on. I disconnected the black w/yellow stripe wire with the engine running the lights go out and the alternator charges. If I shut engine off and restart, the lights stay off but the alternator will not begin to charge until I reconnect the wires. I am selling vehicle this weekend and don't want to sell with any problems. Thanks in advance
PATHRIDER
I did. Charging system checked out fine 14V. Could be an intermittent problem...It happened to my pathy before and I ended up replacing the alty..You could also check the plug on that alty.
