Guest SuperSon
Is there something special about this bolt? I ordered my kit on ebay but its for a hardbody and was told that it would work if I get a different bolt for the rear. If I take out the rear factory bolt that I have on there right now can I just take it to a local bolt shop and get the same one as far as the size and pitch but longer by maybe 2.5 inches? Looking from underneath the pathy I noticed that bolt 3 and 5 are reversed from the other 3 meaning the head of the bolt is in the bottom. does this have a welded nut on the the body or do I have to remove the carpeting to get another socket for the nut? does it matter where I place the new lift blocks from the kit?I was thinking under the factory rubber blocks since its going to be sitting on thicker plate on the frame and the rubber against the body Heres some stuff ive gathered so far to do this lift . 1 New Upper Radiator Hose 4' 5/8" Heater Hose: For power steering and fuel vent lines 4' 3/8" "Transmission Cooler Line" Hose: For power steering (got extra 2 feet for tranny cooler upgrade) different size hose clamp 2 24 inch piece of 4X4

RedPath88
Some people have been able to location those bolts while others have not. It's worth a try, take them down to your local hardware store and ask. If you have a specialty bolt/fastener store, even better

Guest SuperSon
Found out that the bolt that came with the 86-90 kit 4053 is a 10X180MM. Does the bolt for the 91-95 has to be longer or shorter?

As long as I get one thats 3 inches longer than the factory one I have and not a full threaded bolt. Guest SuperSon
Well I picked up a couple of 10X180MM bolts today just to make sure just in case the 86-90 pathfinder body lift kit doesnt come with a couple of this size. I asked headspace what his bl bolts in the rearmost mounts are and it was 10X180MM. It says on the 4053 BL kit for the 86-90 pathy that it came with a 10X180MM grade 5 bolts  Its a 10X180MM with a 1.5 thread pitch.Hope this works and I will keep you guys updated
Iron Locust
Its a 10X180MM with a 1.5 thread pitch. This is a M10X180 with a 1.25 (not 1.5) thread pitch.
Guest SuperSon
This is a M10X180 with a 1.25 (not 1.5) thread pitch. Me and the guy at fasteners both measured the pitch and its at 1.5 using a bolt gauge or are you saying its supposed to be a 1.25 pitch? For 3" body lift 3-d pair - M10x180x1.25 5-th pair - M10x180x1.25 (3 doors) or M12x180x1.25 (5 doors)
Guest SuperSon
Thanks Iron. Im oing to have to check if they have that M12X180 at 1.25 pitch 93 pathy.
unccpathfinder
the thread pitch wont matter too much as long as you have the right nuts...i think that with the 1.5 thread pitch you will loose some gripping force but i would think it would be fine...I would def make sure they were a quality grade 8 bolt (not lowes or home depot grade 8) and i believe the rule of thumb is make sure after its torqued down that u have at least 5 threads beyond the nut... some1 can correct me if im wrong but i believe that is the case...its just my intuition not really based on any specific fact
Simon
The reason for the specific bolts in the rear, and 3rd holes is because there are captive nuts in the truck that you can't get at. Correct pitch is necessary.
Guest SuperSon
Now I know why this bolt is so special.cant find one that long .I was able to locate a 1.25 pitch (fine thread) in a M12 but the longest one that every online store carries is 100MM. I found a thread that a M12X180 1.25 pitch is being used on a lot of european cars on the transmission. gotta do some more searching

meangreenmachine
On my 5-door the rear are 12-1.25 and the third is 10-1.25 I found some at my local bolt store (fastenal) but they had to special order them and had to buy a box of each. 25 per box and they want about a buck a bolt. 50$ for 4 bolts that I need no thanks. Maybe if I can find enough others to go in on a buy in I would get them and send them out.
Guest SuperSon
If I dont find one from all the places above at a reasonable price Im gonna have to get the kit from ac. Im sure if the local bolt place here doesnt have them in stock they could order it also but like with you theyre gonna want me to order a box. I just hate to have to order it from ac just for those 2 bolts but I need my truck to be another 3 inches up.
meangreenmachine
well maybe we can find a few others looking for the same bolts and all go in together and buy them Ill post in the classifieds also
Guest SuperSon
Anyone doing a BL can save a few bucks by going with the 86-90 pathy BL kit granted that the rearmost bolt(M12X180) is available The BL can be purchased on ebay for $90.95 shipped compared to ac thatll cost 150 shipped (quote was given to me a month ago)Thats almost $60 savings. Those bolts according to you should only cost about a buck if you buy the whole box right? Lets say you sell them for $3-4 a piece . Im sure some would be interested specially a lot are doing BL and they can save atleast $40-60 going this route. Oh yeah you did get a price for M12X180 right? Not sure if the 12-1.25 that you mentioned is the same.A lot of the places that I checked has M12 at 1.25 pitch but the longest they have is 100MM.
meangreenmachine
yeah I told them that they had to be about 7 1/2" and they told me that was 190 mm so the bolts are long enough. I would be willing to sell them for cost + shipping.
