Casey.T
Did you put the 4 bolts in that connect the flywheel to the torque converter???? Hehe, I read it, just double checking... Edited September 29, 2006 by Casey.T
mws
Is the trans the same as was in there before, or did it come with new engine? Could be something as easy as the torque converter had drained itself and is taking a while to refill. Double check fluid to see if it dropped a bunch as the TC filled up. 88pathoffroad
I second the fluid level check. Run it through the gears one at a time with the engine running as well to ensure that fluid flows through all circuits inside the valvebody and lines. Filling it once is the first step, you gotta run it through the gears and re-check after that to be sure it's full.
FLApathy
the pump is gone, no fluid at all coming out of the tranny lines, in any gear at any RPM.

Pathfinder Phil
the pump is gone, no fluid at all coming out of the tranny lines, in any gear at any RPM. Are you SURE the TC is engaging the pump? If you ever pulled the TC off the tranny, it's possible. Also, did you fill the TC with fluid? Is the pump cavitating? Anything like that? Just putting out possibilities to try. Usually free to try stuff, trannys cost money. Just trying to help!
FLApathy
Apperantly the Mazda MPV used the same tranny, my dad works at Mazda and there happens to be a guy who rebuilds them there too, and my dad knows the people they take their cars to for that kinda work, talk about a lucky break. And Phil, when I started the motor for the first time, we forgot to hook the tranny lines up, kinda shot fluid all over my driveway, so we unhooked them again and got nothing.
