Oil Filter

Ew...stop using the Fram filters. They're poorly designed and have been known to fail, letting dirt and debris shoot right through the engine. There's a reason they only cost like $4...

What, are you serious? What oil filter is good then?

OEM is usually made by a major company probably WIX, so yes carry on soldier.

Ha! Should have kept reading.. Ok, who sells'em? Advanced? Checkers? AutoZone?

Damn, now I'm scared. I just changed it three days ago. I guess I'll let this ride for now, til then. Where were you when I changed it the first time? :furious:

Best filters:

Mobil 1

WIX

NAPA Silver or Gold series (or equivalent, I think they changed their filter line names)

AC Delco

Purolator

FYI NAPA GOLD filters are made by WIX.

Having seen all these opened, except the Mobil, they are all crimped nicely at the seam and have rubber anti-bypass gaskets.

Fram is not crimped at all, and uses a cardboard gasket inside.

To my knowledge Fram is the only filter like it.
