  1. I will be getting the Superwinch manual locking hubs soon...will let ya know how they go for me...they are "better" (going by description and goodies/features) than teh Warn. They are sealed, which we need for teh sand, snow and all the mud I like to slop around in...and they're $50 cheaper than the Warns...added bonus....LOL

hehehe..that's why I only have 5% on the front windows..and 35% on all the rest..cuz it's illegal here in Cali. Hell..I lived in the bay area when I had my Pathy tinted..now I live in teh central valley....not that it's any better...
  3. I don't find my lack of "retraction" on my 92 Pathy much of a problem..just an irritation sometimes..but my boyfriend however likes to slam the slack in the door.... :X

 I was lazy and paid someone $240 to tint all my windows (except windshield of course)...but they whipped my back window out in quick time... -bounce-
  5. Oh great! Thank you..yes..please post here how it went..what mods...fabbing...he has to do with them. I WANT a 2" suspension lift..but want to make 100% sure I can do it with the Thorleys.....
  6. it has California plates on it..... sssh and I don't think that thing is smog legal....... I'll take it! -bounce-
  7. I am getting the Thorleys from Summit racing..nickle plated with Y- pipe for $329..bad news..order today..ship JANUARY 20th!!!!!!!!! ..but....that'll give me time to find the cams and other goodies. Anyone know where I can get slightly larger than stock cams for a good price (but good quality)??? Does anyone have aftermarket cams (larger cams) and how do they work for yah? Keep the great advice/notes/info coming guys! I am starting to panic as time gets near to pull the motor..I'm not much one for making mistakes..and I can't afford to....OHHHHHHH..ok..has ANYONE installed the Thorley's with a lift? I am waiting for Thorley to call me back as in the Summit description..it says "for no lift" :contract: damnit....so I need to know (I also want to install a 2" body or suspension lift)..whether they COULD be installed with a minimum amount of fab work..... sssh
  8. My doors haven't locked me out yet..but they do act up in this weather for sure. Especially if it rains a lot. They will work the first time I open it..then...NOTHING :X then..if she's feeling nice..they might work again after 4 or 5 tries..but never any pattern to it..just weather.
  9. i bought my Pathy 14 months ago, with 114,000 miles on it. Super clean inside and almost perfect outside. 5 speed, 4 door, 4 wheel drive 92, XE, power everything...and (hehe) i got her for $3,600. (dude owed friend $$..dude gave friend Pathy in exchange..friend sold me Pathy for what dude owed..sweet really) sly but she blue booked at $5,300...sooo..depends on a lot of things. I am in Cali, so she had never seen anything but freeway and driveway. She's super clean underneath too. -bounce-
  10. I am the same Robinau... my Pathy "steams" until she's been running a bit..but ew them smellof gas fumes..GROSS  I don't have to smog her until next December..YAAAAAAAAAAAY Mudfinder..have you thought about valve guide seals? My S-10 had the same problem..and sho nuff... $1000 later I had the problem fixed

  12. there will be plenty of Jack Daniels on hand..cuz my boyfriend will get pissed off first..he's strictly Chevy 454 and 350 carbed motors...hehehe... maybe I'll have his brother video US! LOL :X  -alcohol-
  13. Hmmm... never heard of them... I thought Mako was a paint place? LOl. My bf's brother bought some stuff for his Chevy there..he didn't like it... but.....
  14. oh thank you guys thank you..keep the good advice coming! Yes maritime man...I have a great selection of "french" sssh so there will be no lack of good cuss words flying around...hehehe..thanks for the advice on the parts tray..I was going to take every bolt and put them in baggies and label them as to where they go, and we are going to video the entire operation, so we can look back to know how everything goes back..man! there's a LOT of stuff under there... Any ideas on the best plug wires? Yeah..I was looking at the Flowmaster 40 series..I think they're what I will be going with. God I hate smog!!! :X  Keep the rgeat ideas coming! I could do with it! -bounce-
  15. OK. Time to tell the boyfriends story! So...(this is before we got together).. he's zoomin around in a friends dune buggy right..showin off and bein cool....and his passenger decides he has to go to the bathroom.....sooooooo..he bee-bops in the direction of the bathrooms (brick buildings I might add)..doin about 30 mph....he gets close..hits the breaks....nothing happens....he tries again..then he stopped. He stopped because by then he had HIT the BRICK bathroom wall doing about 25pmh! Needless to say, he got 6 stitches in his head, knocked out 4 teeth..and had to dislodge his face from the steering wheel which was now actually bent in the OPPOSITE direction to it's original position before his face ate it. Needless to say..he went home and built his OWN sand rail...now with a Chevy 350 in it and about 500 ponies pushin her! ( I put extra roll bar padding on it for "safety's sake")
  16. Thanks for the great advice guys! I really appreciate it! Yes...I do have broken bolts.... but I will be taking the motor out, as I also plan (besides the headers) to put 2 new cams in, water pump, O2 sensor, plug wires, Warn manual locking hubs, timing belt, oil pump, new clutch (complete kit), cat back system..speaking of..the type of sound I want to achieve would be as close to a low V-8 rumble as I can..I DO NOT want to sound like a ricer..lol. From the cat back will be flowmaster..I just don't know which one would sound best.... i had the delta 3 (cat..dunno what muffler..but it was a Flowmaster) on my S-10..sounded wicked good.... Aneeeehew.... my boyfriends brother is a good welder, we have 2 types of welder here, so he could do that for me... OMG..I am soooooo skeered! I have never really delved into a fuel injected motor (my S-10 never broke!)..... any "easy removal" tips? We will be videoing the removal..LMAO...so we know where everything goes back! LOL -bounce-
  17. Oh cool. Yeah..I emailed Thorley... $629!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :X I must say..he emailed me back QUICK! but I know I can get them cheaper... I think I read where Maritime man got them for $450 @ Summit. SO.....no need fer the manifolds if I get the headers..I like the thought of saving the extra $250! thanks!! Any advice on what type of bolts to get? grade..size..type of metal..etc... This will be my first real "non- Jeep or Chevy" tear down..so ALL advice is GREATLY appreciated..I am venturing into the unknown ..LOL  OH..BTW....my Pathy is 5 speed MANUAL.....just in case anyone else is curious...THANKS GUYS!
  18. OK. I have experienced enough turmoil in my decision for headers, so I will ask the NPORA members what they think. Any pricing/purchase locations/ tried n tested results would be great! for my 92 Pathy 4 door 4 wd. I will be purchasing after market manifolds too -alcohol- p.s- I am in the great smogable state of California!!!! bear that in mind!
  19. My 92 Pathy also pulls hard to the right... it fried my last set of tires in very weird ways (back driver tire bald in the center.. front passenger tire one little bald patch in the whole tire....) I just put new tires and rims..and am running out of ideas as to why the Pathy pulls to the right, and I don't want this set to get fried. I always check tire pressures, and keep them the same.....
  20. Ok. So like..I totally found teh price (after Thorley emailed me back)..and..um..I'm thinking NOT!!!!!!!! $629!!!!!!!!!!! is someone at Thorley smoking crack? I really want Thorley's (as most Pathy drivers say tehy work best)..but for $629...I think not. Where can I get them cheaper?
  21. Well, I thought I DIDN'T have LSD on my 92 4 door... because there was no tag on the diff..but when "pimping my ride" (I changed tires n rims)...we checked..and lo and behold...LSD! I am sooooooooooooooooooo pleased!
  22. Ok OK..I swear this will be my last "stupid" story! This time it wasn't me! And this story coming from a chick....is just sad..I am a woman, but I can not STAND women drivers! So, my friend is off to have her nails "done"...she drives a Mitsubishi Eclipse, and believe me, she is road rage queen of America..... so, she's off to her nail appointment, stop and go traffic, the usual California stuff....so she's checking her make up, playing with the radio....then her purse falls on the floor..so she leans over to pick it up.....and BANG!!!!!!!!!!! She runs her little ricer right under the back of a Ford Explorer! ROLMFAO. She put a slight mark on the spare tire of the Explorer, but the damage to her car was 2 dented flip up headlights, big dent in the hood, broken light....and ANOTHER insurance claim! (this was her THIRD accident that was her fault). I really wish she'd give up driving! Another incident I remember, of her and the same car, is when her boyfriend dumped her. She stalked him, found him, and as he got in his van, she pulled along side, he went to leave, and she rammed his van with her little Eclipse! Broken passenger side mirror, dent in the door and another insurance claim and a restraining order! Where do i meet these people? -alcohol-
  23. Ok. So, like (my valley girl impression) I am totally looking at Thorley headers, but dangsnabbit, they don't have a price posted! Anyone have any ideas of cost? -alcohol-
  24. OK. Here's another one of my "umm...DUH" moments. Seem to happen a lot to me! It must be something to do with Jeeps. OK. So me and some friends (after closing the bar) decide we are gunna go "night wheelin'" (there is a little spot right by the freeway that has mud, water, hills and rocks..but is NOT for public use..c'mon..that's half the thrill isn't it? ) now, we have done this (at least..I have) several times before, and always got away with it, no breaks, no trouble (except this one time..but I'll get to that one later!) so we gas up and head out there...I am showing off..doing good icky muddy doughnuts, and my passenger was less than sober. I had promised her a while back that I COULD make her puke wheeling with me. She denied this excessively. "no way..nuh uh..' yada yada. So there we are..spinning around really fast, and BUMP! I hit a bump....and over the Jeep started to go (did I mention I NEVER had a top on my Jeep? What's teh use? topless is best)....we start tipping to the passenger side..Wendy screams..her arm hits the ground..I turn the wheel...get the Jeep upright....and she looks at me and says "I want OUT". So..out she gets..goes to another friends truck...opens the door..looks at me...and BLAHHHHHHHHHHHH  pukes like you have never seen! I did my job well. sly OK. that same night..I carry on fartin around..and the Jeep feels funny... so I finally get out and look around..and lo and behold! ROLMFAO.....one of the sections of fence must have been under the mud..stuck in my rear spring! DERRRRRRRRR. So..I try to get it off..won't go..so my friend decides he's going to stand on it to add some weight..I pull forward..fence comes off..he goes hiney over right into the mud! Well...no one would let him in their trucks (sniff sniff..babies) so i had to drive him home in the Jeep (as it was FULL of mud anyway..what did I care). The guy who ended up in the mud..decides he want to bring his '80 Yota out the next day....so..we head out again...doin fine..playing...and he decides to go down the "Jeep trail" it's steep as hell either side..with a very short base..so Jeeps manage best as they have SWB...the hill is shaped like a V..and steep both sides. So..we all warn him (did I fail to mention his BALD TIRES!) not to do it..he'll get stuck...well..stupid is as stupid does. He went down. We saw nothing until about 2 minutes later when we saw what seemed to be him trying to turn around... (did I fail to mention how NARROW this dip was, with a ditch on one side?)...then we saw nothing. We waited. Then we saw headlights again....but now they were like a search lights pointing directly to the sky! He had not seen the ditch and backed into it. So..we all clamber to the side of the hill...look down..and there he is..stuck as you like! So..not having enough tow straps and it being pitch black, we leave his truck for the next day. Recovery took my Jeep, a friends 73 Chevy 3/4 ton with a 454, and 110 feet of tow straps and chains to pull the Yota out! What a night!
  25. stupidity stories huh? well, I have a few, but the most EMBARASSING one I can come up with off teh top of my head (and all you JEEP haters will LOVE THIS!) is when some friends and I went wheeling at Carnegie in January of this year(Frank Raines was closed)... me and my best friend in my (topless) Jeep, my friend and his 2001 GMC Z71, friend and his 2003 Yota TRD with fresh 6" lift n tires.... so we're playing (I am a fiend for mud)..I am showing off...bragging my Jeep is better..blah blah..do the frame twister no problem...run through the mud SEVERAL times...and then they convince me I should be the depth tester for teh center of the mud pit (which was full of water)..well..even with 33's and a 6" suspension lift, I was the LOWEST vehicle there..but me being the braggert and showing off, and of course..we were the only 2 chicks in the group of 8..had to put the boys to shame. So..I come bombarding into the mud..and ego took over and I did not slow down..AT ALL... well..needless to say...KERSPLOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all we remember seeing is a HUGE wall of water, with water flowing in through the doors (lucky I tore out my carpet..no need for it and easier to clean)... the tidal wave came up, over the top of the windshield, and 3 feet later..splutter splutter POOP. I think I had sucked up every ounce of water in that pool! My poor Jeep...sucked, swallowed...and promptly died! So, there we were, in the middle of this "lake"..water coming in the doors....and laughing at my stupidity. Next thing you know..the walkie talkie came to life, and you could hear the guys laughing. I asked for a little "recovery" help..and they said they'd be there when they could...(they were 100 yards away!). They left us there for 15 minutes...I crawled over the windshield and onto the front deck to hook up the tow strap..and we got pulled out. I popped the hood..assessed the damage..dried stuff out..and after much backfiring and coaxing..I got the Jeep started and drove her home! The guy laughing most at me (the Z71 vehicle that towed me out) promptly broke a half shaft while I was drying out my Jeep..... what a DAY! The Yota fried an alternator, I fried my alternator, and the Z71 killed a half-shaft! But we all limped home and lived to wheel again.
