  1. Nice work! That's wild lookin. Shiney... I like shiney things..
  2. Runnin 2x12's (see link) http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/slick90jeep/...62f.jpg&.src=ph and 2 solid audio amps (1 @ 800 & 1 @ 1000) http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/slick90jeep/...b81.jpg&.src=ph I have an Earthquake EQ.. 2 6x9's...2 4x6's....Kendwood deck with 6 cd changer..bumps like crazy.... sounds AWESOME.. and I paid $500 for everything... the amps and speakers were brand new and installed.. and the rest from a friends Gran Am that he sold. -bounce- the Earthquake is hidden in the glove box..hehehe
  3. They are on each side of the motor..probably under heat shields. Sometimes you can peek down there and see whether any are broken. If you look at the valve cover..then just below it should be a shield and the exhaust manifold is just under the shield. Best to just ask the owners if they had them changed through Nissan... a lot of the guys are driving with them broke.. I just pulled my motor and did the work and put aftermarket headers on..and after that work and a good exhaust system.. I gained 5mpg!!!!!! And my Pathy has more power and is happier. (and she rumbles now) It generally comes down to personal preference, and how much $$ and time you have to do the work. I have to smog my Pathy..and she wouldn't have passed the test... besides all the gains I got were sooooooo worth it! -bounce- good luck!
  4. Watch out for broken manifold bolts too..ask if they have been replaced yet....
  5. Check the valve covers too for leakage.....
  6. If you lay down underneath your driver door, and look up near the frame rail, at the exhaust where it joins, you will see it plugged in. I also have a '92 Pathy. The wire runs all the way behind the bell housing, and up into the connectors on teh passenger side fire wall. By the battery.
  7. That sounds like fun! I like exploring..... Let us know when you're planning your jaunts and we'll see if we can tag along. :cool2:
  8. Yes. We go to Pismo all the time. We have a sand rail, so we know it well. Las Padres is supposed to be good...haven't been there yet though. I always air down. My Pathy is not completely "stock".. I just want to go have some safe n sane fun, stretch her new legs a bit and take some nice pics and get out of the house!! Weather is turning too nice to stay home...bored. I was thinking within a month.. no big rush... I can wait for you MWS. You can find Fraink Raines (it's right off I-5)(also known as Del Porto Canyon) online, as well as Hollister, Carnegie (kinda sux for the moto x bikes that aren't supposed to go into the 4x4 part) and Oceano Dunes. I am not a big fan of taking the Pathy out in the dunes too much, that was just going to be a weekend get away. The sand rail and trailer is too heavy to tow with the Pathy ... Let me know whatcha think....
  9. My Pathy and I are all alone here in Manteca, just south of Stockton, CA. We have no other Pathy's to play with, and we want to go have some fun! I have never "seriously" (anything other than horsin around, bit of mud n flexing) wheeled my Pathy, I HATE big hills, but am gung-ho for anything else. I am planning to hit Oceano Sand Dunes soon for a weekend visit, but I would like to hit Frank Raines Park or maybe Hollister Hills for a day or weekend..... Anyone interested in joining us? Maybe camp overnight and/or bar-b-q after wheeling?? I have a travel trailer I could bring for acommodations for 4 extra peeps, (besides my bf) if need be... -bounce- P.S.- I am pretty much stock, besides JGC coils, 31" tires (spares for wheeling) and Superwinch manual locking hubs (when they FINALLY arrive...) So, I am not about to do a mini Rubicon!! LOL
  10. I had never heard of a panhard bar either. I have always known them as track bars, or sometimes rear sway bars....
  11. I paid $70 for a brand new set of JGC coils from Kragen. They were worth it as local JY's wanted $40 for used..... that, and I couldn't find any to snag at the JY....
  12. :o That totally SUCKS!! I would have to go in there n :furious:
  13. If you are not going to upgrade to headers... then just buy an oil filter relocation kit..makes life so much easier!
  14. It took 25 minutes to change all 4 shocks last summer on my 4 door...then yesterday we did the JGC coils and Rancho shocks...that job took 1.5 hours as we had to cut the coils, and the driver side coil didn't wanna play nice. We had a spring compressor.... allow a day for any hiccups..my Pathy was nice....everything came paprt as desired. -bounce-
  15. I tried to get Nissan to do my manifolds...with no luck. I finally just completed the job myself this week. Nissan were sympathetic..but said there never was an official recall on my '92 Pathy.... go figure.... lol
  16. I just finished (yesterday) installing a brand new set of JGC coils and Rancho shocks on my Pathy.. I took the tire carrier off 2 weeks ago....gave the sagging torsion bars a little lift..n she is lookin awesome! I am soooo stoked. And lucky it didn't make my alignment any worse! YAHOOOOO!!!!
  17. That looks salvageable?? no??? frame bent? Shame. glad yer daughter is ok though!! Congrats on the new Pathy!
  18. Use the search engine for the headers... there are alot of write ups about them. I just installed the Thorley headers on my '92 4 door..and they are AWESOME!!! Good luck with Nissan!
  19. I don't know if you have a manual or auto, but I just completed the job on my '92 5 speed Pathy. I am a complete Nissan novice.... It took about 2 weeks (few hrs a day..leave to buy parts..etc). I took the motor out completely, and there was no way I would have got the job done if I hadn't. One stud (out of the 3 broken) didn't want to come out 100%, (the other 2 were a REAL PITA) so we drilled it out to 3/8, and I put a 3/8 stud in there. I got the other studs from Nissan. I replaced all my belts, and h2o pump, clutch, cleaned the whole motor and added an oil filter relocation kit. I installed the Thorley headers. I gained 4-5mpg out of my job, as the rear main seal was leaking, and spewing oil all over my clutch...so it was slipping all the time. I did a lot of other things to my motor too.... I have lots of pictures if you need any. The idiot proof way I did my removal was to get a bunch of different colored sticky labels, and everything I disconnected, both ends got labelled, such as a rad hose..one end got a pink sticker, with say..X1, X2, X3 etc..and the end I took it from got the same sticker color and number. it was sooooo much eaier when it came time to put everything back together.... and I had no loose or unidentified wires or plugs. If you need pics..let me know... Good luck!!!!!!!
  20. I modified mine by taking it off....but..maybe some paint... a different tire cover...cb antenna mount....maybe a different rear bumper to change the look of things??
  21. -bounce- I would definitely ( I have just installed mine) recommend the Thorley headers... I paid $340 for mine from Summit Racing in January. Also... if you're going with the headers, of any kind, invest in the Perma Cool oil filter relocation kit..$48 @ Summit. I installed one on mine, and it is great. I would have died trying to get the oil filter off with the Thorleys in the way! I invested in the JGC coils, and some Rancho 5000's (p/n 5116) for mine..but, again, Idon't have a lift of any kind. I don't have a lift ....YET...so I can't help ya with the tire thing... but...good luck!! I want to see pics when you're done!!
  22. I am not even listening to music at the moment..my Pathy sounds sooo gooood now..I just listen to the motor and new exhaust..LOL
  23. I am in California, and I am one of the psycho's who just (I mean..drove the Pathy for the first time today inna month) did the manifold job. I have a 4 door 5 speed...and the bolts were a BIATCH. I had 3 broken studs....but the way she ran today..was worth the headaches! I have sweet Thorley headers on her..and lot's of new goodies. But it was a HUGE pain in teh a$$....if you have time... She runs a LOT better now..and is quiet and smooth...and it gave me a good excuse to get the Thorleys! ehhehe sssh sly
  24. I retract my statement.. and am going to get back to my Jack n Coke...hehehe...my bad! sssh -alcohol-
  25. -alcohol- I sure hope the back follows the front.....sorry..couldn't resist! Are you after manual lockers or air lockers? sssh I bought Superwinch manual lockers for $100.... they are sealed and we use them a lot..with never having seen one fail yet...
