  1. *grabs pointer stick and oblidges steve* AHEM........ well, over here to the right, we are on our 4th poho thread, mainly due to me, but i must thank all participants. to the left we have the "how to" section, which has proven useful time and time again for folks. down the hall to the left, we have the geographical forums, so you may harass people in your own country/neighborhood. up the stairs and to the right, we have adam, who has kindly taken the place of andrew as the poho whipping post other than a bunch of mods to pathy's goin on.......... things are still pretty much stable in our enviroment. the population is growing, and few deaths have been reported due to sickness or disease.
  2. "decided" to do a flip? usually it takes the driver (or some numbnutz to hit oyu) to make em flip. what happened? looks nasty. hope everyone was ok. poor pathy
  3. mini's smittybuilt is for a mid 80's yota and was almost a direct bolt on (no bolts for me.. i welded n "modified" hehehe) got it from a NPORA member fer $100
  4. i am trying to get a visual of all this....... but the 1 wire with the little "eyelet" on it is a ground wire.... that needs to be attached.
  5. there's an H and an L on the dipstick for a reason..... don't go past the H. whoever told you 8qts, 9qts is a chevy guy....... or has a humungous pick up truck. slap them...... HARD. drain some from the bottom, if you can't manage that, drain all the oil and start over. being that overfilled won't help.. there's a reason they say 3-4 qts and not 8... hey, at least you TRIED, and may i add succeeded, in changing your own oil. you just got some VERY BAD advice, and i hope you take the appropriate revenge on them soon.
  6. yeah...... read my profile. check out my photobucket. avtar pic. it's relatively self explanatory lmao! i just like razzing peeps over it lol. if oyu have anything else ya wanna know, just shout!
  7. umm.. for starters, i am a CHICK (see my avtar pic?) :tonguefinger: however, i will forgive you.. just this ONCE lol i got kings tires for $800 off ebay...... east coast tires....... FAST shipping, real nice folks to deal with. i actually ordered my tires over the phone and not on feebay...... paid with my CC and they were shipped next day. tirerack.com is also another good place also, i prefer to buy new tires...... i know where they've been....... NOWHERE lol. i've bought 1 set of used tires, and 2 needed repairs....... also! if you're undecided on what tires you want, check out the "product reviews" section for tire reviews, there's lots
  8. 32's comfortably........ king has 4" SL and 3" BL and i rub my 33's (33x12.5x15) sometimes (turning on a slope) just be careful what BS you go with if you change rims, and don't go too wide on the tires......
  9. not if you have friends who can be persuaded with beer and pizza..... and you have a weekend to do it. there are write ups/how to's in the garage on how to put a 2" BL on....... can be done in an afternoon, even with limited skill.
  10. amen. say it with me y'all.............
  11. here is one of the links i found about alignments........ it's the one i mentioned above http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...mp;hl=alignment
  12. she is NO MECHANIC....... that's a fact. as 88 said, she must have been looking at the wrong year... and if they are that intelligent at that shop, i suggest you buy the lift online and either grab a couple friends and do it yourself or have a respectable shop that KNOWS wtf they are doing install it there are body & suspension lifts for your truck, AND uh, WHO is she to say it is "unsafe" to off road a pathy? and what was she smoking when she said SPRINGS? find me leaf springs under a 95 pathy (that is STOCK) and I'll pay you $500...... she can't be complaining about coils. cuz whatchu think a sheep has? and quote:.... but she would be nervous to be offroading in a pathfinder because no-one has made a lift for it. she needs to be SLAPPED, shown NPORA, then sent to the back room to do inventory duty and OFF the front counter......... she will lose them a LOT of $$ with that attitude. i have the JGC coil lift on mini me and TM SL & BL on king.
  13. t-belt $11-$18 h2o pump $35-$55
  14. the bearings are only a "harder" job because you have to remove the hub. never ask people like me if dumping $$$ into a pathy is worth it... i've got $2k plus into mini and $1200 into king....... it's what YOU value your truck at. Sounds like you can do most of the work yourself, so in doing so, you will save major $$$$ ..... the TRE's are easy. when you take the old one off, just adjust the new ones as close as you can to the old ones... if yer real good, you can do a good enuff job to possibly keep driving for a while until an alignment is done. if you someone did a write up about a "home alignment"
  15. *yawns* this was JUST covered......... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=17589
  16. back atcha! if oyu can smell exhaust going in a FORWARD motion, then you may have an exhaust leak up front.... or you are sniffing the guy in front of you's tailpipe lmao
  17. there's nothing wrong with your floor vents, unless you turn your heater to "floor" and your feet stay frozen lol. all i am saying is: pathy's are NOT (by a LONG shot) air tight, so "things" seep in, smells, smoke, critters....... you name it. if you look at your shifter, there is a boot over it (hides all the stuff underneath so all you see is the shifter)... sometimes those boots get old n tear, allowing more heat/odor to get in than usual..... not a life or death situation, i wouldn't worry about it. yes, the exhaust pipe is what iw as referring to. yes, you WILL smell the exhaust, especially if you open your window..... i am not quite sure what nissan were thinking putting the pipe out the side, and on the driver side of the truck. regardless, nothing is "wrong" with your pathy's... uhh.... interior air flow system lol. remove nothing. if you don't blow anymore hoses, no more steam will coem into your truck lol. nothing interior is broken, so leave it alone fix what IS broken
  18. the boot underneath the shifter boots you SEE are probably torn, (if you lift up the "main" boot, you will see a black "liner" that has a tendency to tear) thus allowing the suction of the steam (not smoke) to get sucked through, or, it was actually coming through the floor vents and you THOUGHT it was coming through the shifter boot........ coolant has a distinctive smell. yo must've had more h2o that coolant int he rad... when mine blew at 65mph the steam blastin out was wicked cool and it stank of coolant lol as for the exhaust fumes. do you have a "stock location" pipe or modified like mine? i can smell exhaust on start up/first idle in the morning cuz of my modified/relocated pipe...... usually the fumes come through the back of the truck. it's not like a pathfinder is air tight like new cars..........
  19. oh, i took the 2nd pic when i was doing something else....... for the bypass hose i didn't take anything but the black & yellowq sensors off and the 2 ground wires....... that was IT.
  20. we're kinda pros by now huh thomas? lmao. can't decide whether that's a good or bad thing.....
  21. hehe. guess i don't have to post the links again lmao
  22. the VC gasket is just a 1 piece rubber........... plus use gasket sealer as well....... don't over torque the vc screws..... RMS only PITA on the list..... i was fortunate that both times i did it i had the engine out
  23. no need to remove anything but the hose, and the 2 sensors and ground wires in front of it. if you have a friend with SMALL hands, that's helpful! patience and proper hose clamps are key. also, make sure oyu put the hose on the RIGHT WAY.. yes, I found there IS a right n wrong way it will go on easiest lol... I found out the HARD way lmao.... ah well, i kow now!
  24. awwwww........ nowz ya gots me all flushed mz... lol. but yeah, he's right, i did it, and it's not that hard..... with crap compression, the truck won't run it's best anyway.... this is what found on my #4 piston (the HG actually blew near #2 piston tho) it doesn't look like yours is THAT bad, but it sure ain't right..... if you have the finances to fix it now, then go for it. Here's the write up of when i built me a new one after my HG blew.... and no, my truck barely smoked at start-up . and i drover her 3 months that way until i had the $$ for another motor (i'm like that.. me likey to build things) Here's the linky http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4410&hl= and http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=7404&hl= oh, and I have XE's & SE Pathy's......... i love my XE (mini me) best if knobs n switches are whatcha want. get a mercedez. you only travel 20 miles a day...... i travel 50.... and i still prefer to drive my 5 spd XE i have had more trouble with the rear disk on king (my SE) than with mini's drums. unless you plan on slamming on your brakes at every light or towing a heavy load... ya really don't need em. shock control.. most folks don't want to pay double for the special shocks they take.... and never use it.......
  25. lol, i sure hope so. took me 4 weeks to prep, clean, paint & sand blast everything, and 3 days to build it lmao (that's mini me's motor)
