  1. clockwise and it will take several attempts, as i said, they "jump"....... big jumps...... so be patient, you can't force it..... but eventually it will set.
  2. it's a bit tricky, but you CAN just turn 1 cam to readjust it. I've done it. trouble when you do that..... damn thing "jumps" so sometimes it takes several attempts before it will "jump" into the right place. mine was still 1 tooth off the mark when i was done turning it. or, you can go old school with it and keep turning the engine over until it all hits TDC again........ usually 10 turns outta do it. i can't see HOW the one cam "turned" as you say (unless someone was f'n with it) without "help". an engine doesn't turn itself.......
  3. it's 43 teeth. but anyhoo, no, you don't have to remove cam sprockets.... just make sure they are lined up with the marks on the back plate. be sure not to overtighten the belt.....
  4. dunno if yours is an auto or not or has CC....... but king ran great, but wouldn't idle after i did the injector change.... it was the CC cable had somehow got tightened during the whole intake removal process, and when i adjusted it. presto. smooooooooooooooooooooooooth idle.
  5. and where are you getting a 4" BL? 3" is the biggest as far as i know (and as big as I'd want to go)
  6. have you checked to see if your rad cap is old/not pressurizing anymore?
  7. Slick

    Any takers

omg i think i just puked. WTF. i'll give him $1500 and sell it to some dumbass down here for $15k........ *gags again*
  8. uncc, you MUST come do johnson valley with us in Oct!!!!!!
  9. i dunno bout you guys, but all over my quiet lil town we have those "speed signs" where yer drivin along and there is a speed monitor at the side of the road telling you how fast yer going? that's how i originally checked mini (also by another vehicle being ahead of me and via walkie talkie telling me what speeds we were at) and with king, to check (after 7" of lift &33's) his was all dialed in, i used the same speed sign to check his was accurate. it is SPOT ON. don't trust the speed signs on highways tho...... they're FAR from accurate
  10. too loose of a t belt can be almost, if not as, catastrophic as a belt that is too tight. when they are too loose they have the chance to skip teeth and even come completely OFF the sprockets.... throw your timing off, etc etc.......
  11. i'm with uncc........ in mini, the faster i went, the more my speedo was off. anywhere from 3-10mph...... when i installed the 31's from 215/60/15's (XE came factory on mine)
  12. you obviously never saw the write up i did about my truck then hehehe it's very ahrd to decipher all his problems...... maybe with a better description and a seperate break down of all the issues, but i went x eyed trying to read all that....
  13. i don't suggest popping the cap while the truck is running, unless you like 3rd degree burns and geysers.......... and air in your cooling system...... if yer losing coolant, and it's not leaking visibly from anywhere, then just peek into your overflow bottle, when i blew my HG i could see the oil mixed in. (the oil will float)
  14. your check engine light MUST be on (if it's functional).......... run the codes (the ecu is under the passenger seat)
  15. as long as you keep a CLOSE eye on the oil level at all times, you will be ok short term on the RMS......
  16. i agree. doesn't sound very safe to me. but whatever floats yer boat. it's your rig.
  17. i applaud you young whippersnapper you can leave the intake and manifolds on it, but have to remove radiator, shroud, and fan for x-tra room.... exhaust will need to be disconnected, and of course, the wiring connectors. just FYI.... you can't use an auto's ECU on a manual pathy...... so leave the wiring where it is on each vehicle. here's a link to my motor pulls..... you'll see how i had my chains (i used towels under them so as not to snot up my pretty paint on the purple engine).... but it will give you ideas as to what all you can leave on... (oh, and ziplock baggies are your best friend!) you can mark the bags with which bolts they are and for what) http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a77/Slick...athy%20Engines/ we're always here to help if you get stuck
  18. either slave cylinder or rms leaking. you can't stop the leak without fixing it.
  19. mini came with 215/60/15 tires.......... she now has 31's......... not ALL pathy's came factory with 31's......... does the speedo jump?
  20. check the tranny mounts too that they're not old and worn out allowing the trans to move under load.
  21. my home away from home, and one of our own........ Rugged Rocks Off Road
  22. unfortunately, that is the MOST tedious part of the entire engine pull..... vaccum lines, sensors, wiring harnesses........ do what i did....... go to wal mart, grab so uber bright multi color sticky labels, a black perm marker, and a pad of paper......... take one line/wire off atta time, put the same color sticker on each end, put like X-1 on each sticker, then, when it comes to putting it all back together, it's like connect the dots. it worked out real well for my first engine pull (i have done 4 now.. on different trucks)....... here's a pic of what i mean.....
  23. funny enough, engine i took out only had 132k on it. this engine is real strong, and mini loves it. i've put 40k on the 170k engine.... (* pats self on backf or brilliant build job) oh, as for my choice of color, i have always LOVED the color PCP........ never paint a truck that color.. so an engine was my next option.
  24. NOT.. my garage. ex bf's place.... IF i HAD a garage, it would be very tidy. i am a tidy person...... but that was what I had to work in at the time.
