I do not allow shops to 'torque' the wheels. I have to argue every time, but I tell them just to snug them and I'll torque them. Saves a lot of grief on the side of the road somewhere.... B

Err, anyone with a forward snorkel (much less low) is asking for it. Sorry the guy lunched his motor, but I'm not suprised. I've been perusing snorkels and I want a cab height unit that points backwards (and maybe downwards/sideways) Yes, this would be for a WD21. As for snorkels for the R50, are there none available ? Does no one read ??? (a page from 88's book) This isn't about fixing every members truck. It would be helping out the admin a little as a token gesture for all the work they have done. SHEESH !! Yes JJ, thats basically what we are determining here. As for who or what, it would only be for the 2 mentioned just as a little 'reward' for their efforts, and probably a 1 shot deal. Yep, exactly... Plan on replacing the clutch, pressure plate, T/O bearing (maybe resurface the flywheel, replace the pilot bearing and at least check the rear main seal). Since the shifter is removed, now is a good time to replace the tranny fluid with 5 quarts (not 3.5 like the manual says). Thats about $250-$300 in parts and can be done in 2 days with a garage, the right tools, and experienced help. A shop will charge you something like $800-1300 depending. B

The point here is that I get a good feel for the turn out and how to handle things. While a clutch for Mr Jim or gas for Aaron isn't going to make major changes for them, everything helps and it is a nice token of appreciation for all of the effort both of these guys have put into this site. They are the ones who run the site and have spent countless hours of their time helping others. I think it would be a good show of support for them when they are not able to be here. Regardless, it is in all of our own best interest to insure that the site stays up and running. I don't know who is paying the hosting fees, but it would be a good idea put together a little nest egg to make sure it is always covered. Hey, maybe we could pay for the site to be updated and be less hackable ? You get the point. Another thought is to sell the NPORA stickers at an inflated price and bank the 'profit'; I'm thinking not more than $10 each. Please vote seriously and chime in with any suggestions or concerns. Thanks. B For those who do not know, Mr Jim(founder) and 88Pathoffroad(admin) are both in difficult life positions down to not having internet access. Mr Jim's truck has clutch issues, and Aaron's doesn't get driven much due to the cost. We are considering helpful 'feel good' gifts, not supporting them...

Personally, I don't like spacers, but I'm sure you could go with 1/8" maybe 3/16 without trouble. Personally I'd just deal with it until the new rims... Any $ you spend will just put them farther away, right ? B

Time I reply to this... I have no problem setting up a fund both for NPORA and Mr Jim. As for being closer to Mr Jim, nope, I've never talked to the guy, but I could get the forwarding info from Aaron. As for Aaron taking over 'maganement' of the site, I agree he is the best candidate BUT he is also in a difficult position... It would be better than the current situation, but don't know how much time/energy he would have to spare. Of course, like everyone else, this site has saved me much $ and been a source of a lot of fun. Thats worth some $ to me !! As for Mr Jim, well, he started everything, and I hate to see a fellow in need. The cost of clutch parts wouldn't be much, but Mr Jim might not even be willing to accept any $ or perhaps his pathy is far down the list of important things right now. Regardless, having a NPORA fund to make sure the site is payed for would be a VERY good idea. I also recommend having more stickers made and selling them for $10 each, putting the 'profit' in the fund. I'm willing to try to set up the next round, I just need the files. Give me a day or two to think about how to set this all up right and to try to get some better information. Thanks everyone for your concerns and willingness to help out. It is very impressive. B

I assume thats when it is running, and yes, that is normal. Off hand, I don't know about the meter fuse, but I'll poke around tomorrow a bit to see if I can come up with anything. Because you mention the shifter, maybe remove the console and make sure any contacts are clean ? I think there is also an issue with the button also ? I don't have an automagic so I'm going by memory and possibilities. I'm afraid you are going to have to chase this one. Something easy also, is the neg battery cable in good shape and has good contact on the body end ? Cant hurt to look. B

Yep. My Dad was good to me, and bought me an $1100 Plymouth when I turned 16. His words were "Better work hard and save your $, because any gas, parts, work, insurance needed is your problem". No, it's not normal. Do they squeak when applied, or just all the time ? Perhaps they just need adjustment, perhaps they are glazed. Anyone drive around with the parking brake engaged (even partially) lately ?? Since it only has 12k on it, I'd take it straight to the dealership han have then deal with it for free even though it is a wear item. No new vehicle should do that under normal circumstances, not even a Ford. B

Thanks for the heads up TeamLockDown. We just upgraded to 1.3 not a year ago, which I would guess was outdated even then. That would mean the site will be upgraded to 2.1.3 sometime in 2007.
