That first one would be sweet if it had a 4D and R50 in there!

31x10.50x15 is the biggest you can fit without any SERIOUS rubbing issues. You may experience a slight bit of rub at full lock in reverse, but nothing that will destroy your truck or tires.

I'd suggest getting a PDF FSM from Nissan. You can buy them for like $20 and download and save it to your hard drive. That should have all the information you need. Or if someone on here has an FSM or PDF FSM and would post the pages pertaining to this issue, that would be cool, too. But you should definitely get the service manual anyways, if you are planning on keeping the truck for a while, and are even the least bit considering doing any work on it yourself. With the aid of a manual, you'll find that nothing is without reason (well, except changing that darn oil pan on a 4WD!! #*(^Q!@(#!!!!) -
Is your gas tank full or empty? When mine is full, the driver side sits about 3/4" lower than the passenger side. Could be a little more with softer factory springs... Measure it when empty and see if it still sags....

That gives me an idea.... How about a line that reads: "I understand the Jeep thing...That's why I drive a Pathfinder!"

The 2001+ Pathfinders with the VQ35 have coils, the VG33 Pathfinders have wires. -
I would most certainly buy one! Mark, just keep hounding them about it, they'll make one...

Haha...I love it. I'll gather a bunch of pics and post them here tonight... Does anyone know if Dean Thayer (XplorX4 on AC) is a member here? If I recall correctly, I believe he is a member of the association, but I don't think I've seen him on the boards....Anyone? Reason I ask, is because he has some great photos of his truck in action (Rubicon, etc...).

Can any one please go make a quick measurement

Don't have a WD21, sorry.... For anyone who's wondering, he's got a 1991 SE. -
There is an online company called CafePress (http://www.cafepress.com) that does T-shirts, Baseball Jerseys, Mugs, Bumper Stickers, Mouse Pads and other cool stuff. Custom white T-shirts are only $14 each. I believe they are generic white shirts, though. The quality probably isn't going to be as good as a private screenprinter, but it's something to consider. I know L&P has a line of stuff through them, as well as a few people on VWVortex who have designed VW related T-Shirts, and such. They have over 70 products to choose from with your own uploaded designs. Hooded sweatshirts are $25. They've got everything from Clocks, to baby clothes, to thongs, and bags... However, I think we might be better off going with a private screenprinter so we can actually physically deal with the people who will be making the shirts, so we can get them done right the first time and not look ridiculous. I'll spend some time tonight and tomorrow (lots of free time!) researching and working on ideas for designs. I definitely agree with a lot of the ideas so far. Maybe we could do a shot like this: http://comp.uark.edu/~tlriley/webpage/leemikesjeep.jpg Or: *well, everyone knows the type of picture I'm thinking of here....it's the one where one truck is parked on the front tire of another one...don't really know if this is possible, but it would make a cool t-shirt* The photos we use will have to flow together seemlessly in order to work well. I hate to suggest this, but a poser shot with one of each gen Pathfinder flexing out on some rocks would look nice for a T-Shirt. One thing to remember is we are working with a very limited space... More to come.

There are currently no aftermarket headers available for the R50 Pathfinders. Stillen used to make a set, but due to design problems, they were cancelled quickly. Unfortunately, nobody has ventured down that road... Occasionally the Stillen headers pop up for sale on eBay or message boards. I know a guy here at school that has them installed, and he's had no problems with them that I know of, but I haven't talked with him in almost a year.... As for a high-flow cat, you can get a universal one and have it welded on. Several places sell them for under $100.

They're still actually working on finishing it. They've had a lot of personal issues to deal with in the past 6mos-year, and everything was put on hold for a while. No worries though, it should hopefully be done pretty soon.
-
Yeah, you definitely need the camber bolts and the manual hubs. The manual hubs also help increase your gas mileage when they are unlocked, up to +2mpg! My only regret about the AC lift is not doing it sooner....you'll be happy with it. Don't bother with a brush guard, if you hit anything, it will do more damage than good. Go for the TJM bull bar.

What is LPG?? I've never heard of it.

Who bought an R50 after owning a WD21?
vengeful replied to abomb1's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Big_J, they're still working on finishing it. Lee did a lot of work on it this past week and it should be done pretty soon, I know it was supposed to be done a long time ago, but, ish happens, and they had a lot of ish. Just be patient, besides, wouldn't you rather have them take a little longer and do it right, then bang it out quick and have something fall out on you on the freeway? There is also a lift available from Japan that will give 6" of lift, but it's mucho dinero, I'd rather wait for Lee to finish up his, and besides, I'd rather give my business to someone I "know" over some company in Japan that would cost me $3000....(how's that for a run-on sentence...) -
Either one would be fine. Your stock wheels are 15x7, with appx 4.75" BS. Just make sure you dont get less than 4.5" BS if you upgrade to 15x8, otherwise you'll run into some issues.
-
With my 11.5" tires, and the 3.75" BS + fender flare delete, the tires stick out about 2.5". If he has flares, they'd probably be about flush with the flares. And if he gets the 10.5" tires, it wont stick out quite as far. Oh, yeah, UPS Ground will be about $65 for all 5 wheels. You can see pics of the new tires at the bottom of page 2 here: http://www.cardomain.com/id/findapath

5 Tires x $137 each Plus mounting, balancing, alignment, disposal fees, taxes = $914....they gave me road hazzard free... 5 Wheels x $36.00 each plus $8.95 handling fee = $193 shipped from Summit. All tolled, about $1100, but I got a little help from the old pops on the tires... Thanks for all the comments. Lift = Automotive Customizers 3" SL = $555 on special, came with shocks and struts. Labor = Free (did it myself) TJM = Mucho Dinero that I don't have. Besides, I'm kind of leaning towards a front reciever and one of those reciever winch plates. And I'd rather have a locker than a bull bar at this point.

Unlike your Jeep (just gonna bust on you here for a sec, I promise ), the Pathfinder can fit 31" tires without a lift on the stock wheels with virtually no rubbing. However, your buddy has the XE with the narrower wheels. If you upgrade to the USW Wheels, they're a lot cheaper than the AR ones, and you can get them with 3.75" BS. The 31s will fit with 4.75" BS (as a matter of fact I have an extra set laying around, still sealed in the boxes...), but if he decides to lift and wants to upgrade to 32s later, he'll have to buy new wheels. The BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA KOs worked great for me and didnt rub a bit on my stock wheels, but I have the SE and wider wheels and a different offset. If your buddy is interested in saving a little bit over Summit on the USW 84 Series rock crawler style wheels, in 15x8 with a 4.75" BS and the 6 on 5.5" bolt pattern (Stock fit for a Pathfinder), let me know. $30 each + shipping. I have 5 so he can get a matched spare too... Edit....I have the 3.75" BS on mine, and they do stick out a bit. The 4.75" is very close to stock spec and wont stick out much if at all. I also have a set of stock SE Pathfinder wheels with bald and pitted 31x10.50x15" BFG ATs if he wants to go that route, and that way you can test fit before commiting to the tires.... Where are you located?
-
Yea, they're 11.5" wide...I'm running them on 15x8 (3.75"BS) US Wheel Series 84 Daytona rims. They rubBED on the fender liner at the front and the corner of the bumper, and the fender liner in the rear corner as well....a half an hour and 2 cuts in my hand later, no more rubbing... BTW...trimming your fenders and bumpers with a utility blade can be painful... -thnkboutit- Yeah, I saw a thing about the in car camera mount online and had to try it. I haven't put it to much use, but, it'll get there....once I find a place to go wheeling....

I have a 40 series Flowmaster, and I found one with a dual outlet, single inlet, and turned it around. It works great! Sounds amazing and my built in butt-dyno definitely felt an increase in power and torque. I had piping from the cats back custom made to my specs. Cats to muff: 2.5". Muff out: 2.5" with 2.75" tip. I had the resonator/aftermuffler removed, and it burbles like a muscle car. I found the muffler on ebay for $48. Midas installed it and charged me $120 for parts and labor on custom making the pipes. So for under $175, I have a full cat-back exhaust built to my specs...The ebay listing was actually screwed up though, the seller listed it as a dual inlet, single out, but when it arrived, I noticed it was single in dual out...not a problem though, as I just turned it around. (Flowmaster says they're not reversible, but it works just great! I passed emissions this year better than I did before doing the exhaust, so....) I say go for it man.

I discovered there is some pretty decent rubbing on the inner fender liner, but nothing major, and nothing that cant be fixed with a little bit of box cutter, BFH and silicone.... Thanks for the compliments, I like it!
-
I just got my 32" Dunlop Mud rovers and US Wheel Series 84 wheels installed today and, man are they sick! Now I need to get it dirty.... More pics at bottom of page 2. Oh yeah, they fit great....I've had no problems with rubbing that cant be fixed very easily once it gets light again. I'll probably have to roll and pull my fenders a little, but thats easy enough.

Metallic rattle at 1300 & 2800 rpm and sizzling
vengeful replied to a topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
A blown catalytic converter could cause a pretty bad rattle from under the truck. My former roommates Hardbody rattles like a can of screws, and it's cuz his cat is blown out. Maybe using 91/93 blew out your cat....
