  1. Well on our way out to richmond today my girlfriend and i see this massive lot. Its muddy & grassy and curls back along the river along ways... Im thinking of hitting it large on the way back Anyways i hit alot of holes and some serious tire rubbs [must slpa the 3 inch body lift on asap] And then the best parts mud and water holes into them at 60mph. Splashs large muddy all over lauffs... We rest abit watching planes take off then go back thru with the muddiest ive ever been.. We note another way out on the way back on a normal road and off to the side is a pretty wide and good looking water hole...... Fak man!!!!!!!!!! I hit it at 50 K and all i felt was BOOM dropped 4 feet into a hole of mud and alot of water.. Then realized oh shat im in 2 wheel drive. Slammed it into 1st and gunned it. Nothing spinns and bubbles of exhaust coming out of my exhaust. I look out the window realizing that the door is covered to the handle with dirty black water. Im screwed if this engine dies im thinking and say fak fak fak a thousand times then say to my gf hit the pedal rev the (I am a dork for trying to use profanity here) out of it---> DO NOT LET IT DIE. I pull a dukes of hazzard onto the roof slip down the windshild onto my face to the hood and reach into the maddness of water to search for the left side warn hub cranked it other side and boom back into the seat covered in shat! Slammed into low and one step of the pedal it was a pump-pump and out of the madness... It was the worst 2 minutes of my life but was pretty freaking fun.. Mud and water soaked inside its a mess,,, but she runs like a dream

  3. well today inj the light it was a vac line that runs tot he air cleaner i could hear the hissssin sound. as soon as replaced onto the aircleaner part ran like normal. In regards to the gas the cheap i can really tell a diff since running the cheap then went the next step up and since we get these deals late nights in town all gas is the same as cheapest so i filled up with the highest octane for the price as the lowest octane.. And dudeeeeee it flys up hills squaks tires it makes a difference 100% Highway driving takes me a 2 week period to drain the tank! Vac lines are so important..
  4. hmmmmmm whatabout sounding like a 3to5 cyclinder engine? Im taking it to someone for a compression test tomorrow im worried before i spend anycash on it i should just test it first... I had my gear stolen when the pathy was stolen thus cannot do the compression test myself.. arrrgh But i bet it something really lame and stupid like a vac line or a fuel pump not pumping enuff or something like a 5 buck filter somewhere im crossin my fingers cause my jobs 2 hours away everyday. I cannot have this Pathfinder being the one today

  6. armelius2 did you fix your issues with the rumbling of your engine? Was it the mounts? I have similar problems i have not ever changed the pvc valve and i hjave had this daily Pathfinder for now 2 years who knows when it was done b4 hand...
  7. fakkkkkkkkk dude you got the same issue as me i noted tonight my engine is moving the vehicle and wondering now if my exhaust has been moved due to the shaking causeing the horrid sounding pipe notes like as if it were on 5 -3 cylinders ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGE i new i should not have driven over that curb at the speed i did....

  10. I have a v6 was running tight last night. Put 91 octane in it and drove even better today on my way home it did this up and bam like in a split second as if something stopped working or fuel went bad. So i changed the fuel filter went over everything i could tonight but seems to run the same when ideling? LIke crap!!! It runs alright at normal running rpms but as soon as i stop to a idel it sounds like its running on 5 cylinders? Anyone ever have this issue? Is it a quick fix such as a oxygen sensor or something dumb or is the engine on its way out with all my highway driving i have done the last 2 months?

  12. 87 pathy what you think i should do i need to figure out the best bet for the susepnsion. Unfortuanetly im learning as i go along here about ssuspension real fast! Im not i repeat not a suspension guy engine swap no worries bnut sas'in the thing wholyyyyyyy crap it will be off the road for at least 5 months getting worked on and tested.... not lol-in about this at all. I need to figure what s the most common front + rear ends that can be matched and run for the application i want. [Reason is only the v8's weight! That is it...] Anyways i need to find something that im not going to be looking for parts for months and then have to pay thru the gullet to get. Any help would do anyone! Im going to ask my buddy who is a hot rod nut.. He will know just hard to find him with spare time since he got married... I guess the best bet is to shop till i drop lol

  15. no im not mixing up the generations Just wanna know if i can convert over a set of coils in the front and if they will do me any justice with a v8 or am i fakked and need to go SAS only and last thing said with the v8? Other than that does anyone know of 16 inch rims to put on a Nissan Pathfinder? I got a set of tires and cannot sell them wortha shizit bfgoodrich allterrains and would use them for now on a set of 16 inch rims if i could get them? Then sell my pathy rims and 15 muds...
  16. Yeah my compression rods are completely wasted.. I am in need of some badly. I saw a pair on a local wreckered pathy and should have grabbed them they looked brand new pssd What an idiot i am Never passs up a new looking part at the wreckers i am learning.. Nothings available from any aftermarket place for this part/item? Thanks man that helped out... Im not 1000% sure of the years of pathfinders that had the shock & spring in the front, But am rethinking the idea of doing the 87's pathfinders front with that senario. If i can weld up the upper bracket or just cut off a front end from the wreckers/ and or get the proper measurements then refab up the front so i can add in the JGC spring to the front + back im sitting 3 inchs higher and should be able to add the V8-383 without any front end problems.. Worst case senario i head to a spring shop and get something custom made to take some serious weight for the front.. I just don't want som aggy beat up front end with a 400 horse engine. I know in the near future i will be replacing the rear end drive shafts and probabaly alot more but for now ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH:wacko: I know my dad had this same issue with a supped up 52 chevy he had. He ended up palying with 8 different springs and ended up with airbags.. But this isn't a 52 chevy. Its the Pathfinder.... hehehe ****I was wondering if anyone had tested the weight in the pathfinders of that GJC [aka rear 3 inch spring.] I think i read somewhere somone said that the rear hitch tirerack on pathfinders was too heavy with that spring lift and kicked the butt end down abit? If that is the case the spring is not gonna work on the front for the 383...*** So for now back to drinking and the drawing board -alcohol-
  17. 88 i got a question for you that everyone will like to see also.. First what are the signs and how does a vehicle drive with worn gear? This question i think will answer to that new Pathfinder i am looking at that has had the 3inch torsions cranked and running 33 12.5 tires and now has major steering problems... Second the rear lower control arms i know mine are hooped on the vehcile i run now [ the bushings are totally squashed .. I get major squeeks from sudden braking stops.. And next is anything available thats somewaht sexy looking to replace this old primitive looking part or do you just go get stock ones? Would you strip the lower control arms off a wrecker or just go new.. And i hope im talking about the front lowers ..... Don't even really know what they are called here im adding a picture with arrow... Oh and last thing those GJC 3 inch lift rear springs will take how much weight in total do you think just estimated? Need to know this for a possible front-end project....

  21. WOW dude your wild ... Only thing that will get it out is to drill it tap it and use an extractor... I figured 88's method woiuld have worked also by hitting it up the otherside.. I hope mine are not like this.... Im going to look under both sides tomorrow cause i really just want to grind the heads off and let them drop out [possibly a bit of bashing but they should just in theroy drop out!!!]

  23. Thats some insane looking work dude...... Is it gonna be streetable in the end? a local guy that has done alot of work picts as well Hmmmm so much to do all i need to do now is move outta this apartment and into a place with a garage.. I think i am going to follow yoshis front end style... on my pathy first before dealing with the engine swap
  24. Holding off till the shop has some space i forgot alot of my powerdrills jacks and other things were stolen from me when the pathy got ripped.... Freshly painted bolts and shocks though will need at leats 5 days cure time before anything gets put on. Hopefully next week by then i will have put a progress web site up........ I canot wait though wanna see the lift and shocks in action :X
