I'll prolly leave the front alone...well, I have one sway bar link takin a dive, but I will disconnect the rear links and take out the bump stobs out back. Looking under there, the only issue I see, is the tard that did the dual exhaust, didn't pay too much attention to interference. I may mush a pipe. We'll see.

Would there not be any issues with mud getting into the holes/ slots and damaging components or rendering the holes useless.

I use Royal Purple in mine. The purple color will give way to a light maple color. It makes it easier to see. I had Mobile1 in another car and had the same issues with seeing where the mark was.

What would happen if I removed or shortened my rear bump stops to allow for a little more tuck? If utilized in conjunction with disconnecting the sway bar links would everything bind up? Ok, so, 2 questions..

I've tried the shoe polish, but not the edge dressing. I think I'll go buy some of that. I have the mother's back to black. I just don't want to apply every few days. I may go try to find an old flare at the bone yard and try the heat gun trick. Hmmm, wonder how that will work? Thanks for the input...and the comedy. Sometimes my guard goes down and I think I can make it without damage..oops. Comes with the territory, and it prompted my want for the new bumpers. Yeah, I tried that. The issue with WD-40 is it is a dust magnet. Maybe that Krylon Fusion rattle can paint for plastics. I just think it will create more of an eyesore later down the road. I should just give up...

I bet they'd chew up your fenders like butter. Th truck in the pic looks like there is no room for error. Just a little tilt and bye, bye nice fenders. BTW, what keeps them from flipping over when the unit leaves the ground? Just sheer weight?

I would like some input on getting all of the black plastic on my pathy black again. I have tried the Mothers stuff.(high dollar and works for about 4 days. I don't want to paint it, waste of time there. And until I make my bumpers, I would like to keep it nice. Call it wanting the best of both worlds. Something I can take into the mountains, but still have a nice DD. Any suggestions?

MY quick fix for Texas inspection, I rigged up a little toggle switch. When I put the old Ford in gear, I used my other hand to flip the switch. The inspection dude was none the wiser. If they have their own tech in your pathy, I suppose that will not work. I haven't had an issue like this in Oregon though. Hope you get it fixed. Nothing like torturing a pathy by making it just sit there. Poor thing just wants to play. Damn inspections.

When the wife's mini van died(dodge w/375k), we bought a new rio. I expected a lot less. It's pretty peppy for 35mpg. It's no muscle car though. We just couldn't pass up the price and mileage. She has a 1+ hour commute. It's surprizingly well constructed. I can't say much for the older ones, but We like it for what it is. I have an aunt that bought a sportage last year. It seems alright for what it is. Just my 2 cents worth.

I wish I could come up with a cheap, nice looking snork set up. I think the price they ask is a bit over the top. I didn't think about the hot air issue. Who knows, when I win the lottery, I'll buy all the overpriced mods. I just gotta play first.

Watch the crank, see if it walks back and forth. It's hard to tell without being there to listen for myself. I'll try to point directions as I think of them. I have never heard any noises like that from a tranny. But I have only owned one nissan. They may have their own quirks.

Can't be the torque converter, it would do it all the time. Try setting the parking brake or but the truck against a tree, in gear and watch your harmonic balancer. See if the crank is jumping back and forth. I had a dodge that did the same thing. I thought it was the motor knocking. I ended up having to shim the crank. I'm not sure what you are hearing. Does it sound like it's in the engine, or more of a sheet metal bang?

Yeah, the plastic piece is still intact with screw, the problem is, I cannot get the screw to slide into the slot on the bumper corner. I have no idea how to even get to the screw. Or is the corner piece not supposed to have a slot in it? Maybe it should have been a hole. But how the ^%$# do I get to that screw? I wish our welder was up and running. I have the plans, just need to order the steel and start welding. It should only take a couple of Saturdays...

I had a similar issue with the truck stalling when I would come to a stop. It threw out all kinds of codes. I read somewhere, maybe on this site or a Nissan Repair site, about the throttle pos. sensor being bad or in need of adjustment. Luckily, mine just needed adjustment. Been running fine and no codes ever since.

So, they don't lose their placement while wheeling? I keep hearing they are unsafe to use if you place them at the ends of the springs rather than between the coils. Just curious.

I had a little oops. I backed into a rock out at the trail and dislodged the corner of my stock plastic bumper cover. I can see a screw in there but have no idea how to get to it. How in hades do you get to it to tighten it up. It is a large sheet metal screw that screws into a plastic anchor. The bumper corner has a horizontal slot in it to accept said screw. I can get the corner into position but it just pops out. I know how to prevent this from occurring again, look before just throwing the rig in reverse and backing up. That is the easy part. Anyone have some help for me?
