Thanks...unfortunately I have the "Black Sheep" edition Pathfinder...97 SE...so no such thing as aftermarket parts. Nothing in that link for my Pathy.
Here's the link for the pre-facelift R50:
Thanks for clearing up the coil question. I had no idea OME made different "sizes" of coils; I thought they were all ~1.75" lift coils. Definitely opens up more in terms of versatility, though.
-
So the MD coils don't provide as much lift as they HD coils?
-
But it's not a VG... It's a VE.

I think what he means is the sway bar is there for a reason. It's difficult to have both on-road stability and off-road flexibility with IFS set-ups, and this is very much the case with the R50.
With the front swaybar connected, I had no complaints off the pavement. Actually, I was happy with how it 'performed' on the trails.
If only the front sway bar could be disconnected as easily as the rear...

Sick. Love that colour. Your rig's lookin' sweet!
-
Sweet, thanks! Definitely wanna replace the cheesy running boards for something more substantial.
-
SilverPath, just curious what length are the sliders you bought from Rugged Rocks?
-
the jet v-force is pretty much a modual but when i put it in she seamed a little bit more jumpy. it plugs into your MAF/MAP and your throttle sensor, you can also plug it into your o2 sensor but i havent done that yet... all in all i think its worth it but thats just me.
Cool.
Definitely keep us up to speed on what you notice in terms of efficiency, output increase, acceleration, etc. Kudos on taking the plunge with something new!

I'd leave 'em connected all the time. Your front flex won't be spectacular but at least on the pavement it's all gravy.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank my Secret Santa, Andrew Nolten, for his awesome gift!
Got a set of Pro-Comp 55W driving lights:
Now I just need somewhere to mount these bad boys! Hopefully I can get a roof rack on which to mount them.
Thanks again! I'm definitely happy to have been part of SS2010!

Well done! Your rig looks awesome!
I've heard great things about the Duratracs, too. The 31's really suit the truck.
How's the Jet V-Force Plus?
-
Thanks, Mr. Zanette!

I dont know how it worked out like that, all I know is that my struts no longer top out (well actually once but I was baja'ing a speed bump at 25mph ) Body roll was also increased...maybe it has something to do with the vehicle weight being higher up? I cant really tell you why all I know is that its awesome.
No sway bars makes it mo bettah
Mo bettah...
With the SFD installed, your COG is definitely higher, which means decreased stability when turning. But good to know your struts no longer top out... even with the AC coils?
I wonder, with the AC coils installed, what it be like to go sway bar-less up front.
That was for the rear sway bar if I was not mistaken. I have had my rear sway bar off for 2 years now LoL
+1. If you have aftermarket coils, the rear sway bar becomes pretty redundant.

With the typical suspension lift (AC, OME), you should be able to fit ~32" tires with little to no rubbing. Just make sure your wheels have adequate backspacking/offset (<3.75") to clear the strut.
-
Well I have heard from a few people that the front does have flex without the sway bars. I know for a fact Boston runs without one as did stryker. And Tyler, you will understand once you get a sfd...the suspension seems alot more plush per say
More plush with the SFD?
How's modifying the subframe going to change the 'feel' of the suspension?
-
Is the difference that noticeable?
If you want front flex that much, SAS your rig!!!

Hilarious!
Thanks for sharing.

Definitely some scary stuff...
-
Nice rig. Definitely start a thread in the Members' Rides section.
-
Usually, cleaning the MAF is the best solution. Not sure what's involved in testing it, though...
-
Just jokes.
I can haz piks now?

Still no SS gift over here...

Looks awesome!!! Your rig's lookin' meaner and meaner every day!
Regarding the whole pinch seam thing, as long as the frame rail support is sturdy, there shouldn't be any issue... Right?
