    power button

i think that is what he wants to prevent.
  2. yeah, some guy with an 88...apparently.
  3. You should spray the hell out of everything with a pressure washer from underneath and clean the areas surrounding the valve covers. That'll help determine where its coming from.
  4. Based on what I've heard, don't hold your breath.
  5. The Kumho MT's are a great tire. I don't have much experience with other tires but these have held up great and the tread really digs in. If you live in an area with long winters, I would recommend getting them siped for traction on ice though. This is a good review: KUMHO
  6. Yup, just got er off. what a friggin weekend, did the valve cover gaskets yesterday only to find the leak get worse. looks like its the crank seal but oil sprayed everywhere so i should probably check the cams too. Thanks.
  7. Hey, does the crank sprocket just pull straight off? any tips on how to get the thing off? Edit: Also, do you need to pull the oil pump to change the crank seal?..god i hope not.
  8. Good call 88, the wax choke is sticking. I don't need high idle for the summer, so until I have time to fix it, I just tied it back with some wire...works great now. Cheers.
  9. That one with the pistol grip looks like an AK-47, minus the huge clip hanging down.
  10. Can you clarify your question. So you have a new RADIATOR and you want to hook up an oil filter relocation kit. Did you say you want to T it off and run the tranny and engine oil through the relocated filter?
  11. Yeah, thats where I ended up putting mine too. I don't have an E-fan, but haven't had any issues. *knock knock*
  12. Crazy Carpets! Thats how us canucks get to work!
  13. I couldn't get mine to fit on the front of the condenser no matter what I tried, but if you can, its the best spot for keepin it cool. You can use vice grips to clamp the lines before disconnecting them too, makes it a cleaner job.
  14. My '88 has nearly 300K KM's on it and the MAF wasn't dirty at all, but it doesn't hurt to wipe it down just in case.
  15. Can you folks hunt with handguns down there? We can't in Canada but I've always thought it'd be a blast.....literally.
  16. Thanks for all the info. I used some intake cleaner on it lastnight and sprayed everything off, I think it dropped the fast idle about 100 rpm's. The butterfly was surprisingly clean and shiney on both sides. I'll check out the wax choke tonight b/c it still doesn't kick down off fast idle. Cheers
  17. thanks Fueler. My pops mentioned the fast idle valve, but my truck seems like its really screaming....louder than normal. Maybe i'll toss in some STP or something.
  18. Not sure. How would I check that, clean the TBI? EDIT: Thanks for the heads-up Slick, where is the charcoal canister and how do you adjust the throttle? I'm not sure I want to adjust the throttle b/c it eventually idles properly at 7-900rpm's.
  19. Hey Slick, Yeah, i cleaned the MAF a couple months ago and have checked for a vaccum leak. i'll take a closer look tonight as i change the valve cover gaskets.
  20. I tried the "search" function but couldn't find much for useful info. My truck has been revving high for a few months, I thought it was b/c of the cold weather, but it isn't cold anymore and it continues to rev at about 2K rpm's until I drop in into gear or its been running for a while. After its been driven and is warmed up it idle's fine at about 700-900 rpm's. The engine doesn't sound good when it rev's up around 2K rpm's, Is this a sign of a worn out engine? Thanks for any info.
  21. Sounds like the alternator is hooped. Before going out and replacing it you could get it tested, it might just be a bad diode, or stator, or regulator or something. Might be cheaper to rebuild it.
  22. That thing must haul arse. I think I saw your post on nissanoffroad too, cost something like $13,000?!
