  1. Howdy folks, My fusible link "blew" yesterday and i'm not sure why. I have had some electrical problems since i bought the truck but this is the first time this happened. Anybody with any cases or experiences with their fusible link blowing?? I'm not sure what'd put such an extreme load on it to do this?? Thanks for any info.
  2. This may be a ridiculous question, But with the 3" lift UCA's in the front installed, are you running your UCA's basically resting on the upper bumpstops?? Or do they correct the angle so you can still have a few inches of space for some ride comfort? I already have some 3" lift coils from AC and I am going to order some UCA's from somewhere soon, but if my ride will be sh!$ even with the new UCA's maybe that isn't a wise decision. hmm.
  3. I've never seen it attempted but with some modifications anything is possible. The slope in the Xterrra roof and change in roof height under the rack may present some problems since the Pathfinder roof is flat. It'd look deadly if you could pull it off though.
  4. well, after further inspection, it turned out to be two worn plug wires, the spark was jumping. So I put on some new plug wires and cleaned the EGR valve and its running excellent again. Thanks for the info.
  5. no, i haven't messed with anything else. i can't see how this could have anything to do with it, but I did an oil and filter change the day before this started. strange edit: I also checked the wires, they seemed fine, no excessive resistance Where would I find the coil's power transistor? or the ignition control module? Thanks
  6. hello, my truck just started running like crap, it's missing pretty bad and bogging when I accelerate. I put in new platinum Bosch plugs and replaced my rotting AIV assemblies and the problem went away for about 20 minutes. I just checked the spark and it is inconsistent and actually stops at times. What would cause this? Ignition control module? Ignition coil maybe? The cap and rotor looks good. Any info. would be appreciated, thanks!
  7. Thanks for the info. It turns out it was the fuse for my Command Start. I pulled it a while back b/c I thought it was the problem. For some strange reason the hidden fuse was still drawing power?!? But that's taken care of! no more disconnecting my battery every time I get in/out!
  8. Thanks, I already pulled all the fuses with no luck...now i'm starting to pull hair..
  9. Hello, Something is draining my battery and I cannot figure out what it is!! When I set my Ammeter to the 10A range I get a reading of about .29. This doesn't seem like much draw but apparently is enough to drain my battery after a couple days sitting. So far I have: -Put in new alternator -Brand new battery -Checked all the fuses -Disconnected the CD player -Checked if alternator is charging and also disconected it to see if it is drawing on the battery Nothing worked. The only thing that stopped the draw was to disconnect the fusible link, but then that stops everything Does anyone know what this might be or know of something else I should check? Thanks for any info.
  10. Hello from Saskatchewan! Cheers to the RIDERS!
  11. Good call, those detailed photos are just too much to put on a t-shirt. A solid silouette type pic that has the angles of a Pathfinder would be way easier to recognize from more than 10 ft. away. IMHO, I think the WD-21 2 door would be a good idea simply b/c it's the "original" body style and b/c that's what I drive, lol. But then again it seems the majority out there are the WD-21 4-door, so maybe that is a better call. Either way I don't really care which pic is put on the t-shirts. We just need a basic pic, maybe even an animated off road pic like on those old vintage tee's of the 70's. That'd be sweet ace!
  12. Ya, no kidding! unfortunately same amperage, i have no idea what it's out of. The shop in town had it on hand and it mounts the same. I think Delco made it for Mitsu ??
  13. Well, i pulled the alternator and had it checked, it was seriously bagged..needed a bunch of stuff replaced. So i got my hands on a Mitsubishi alternator, same size and everything, threw it in and everything is cool once again! No more warning lights! Thanks for the info!
  14. well i left my truck sit all day long and when i started it after work and the A/T light was still on?! it should've cooled down. the battery and brake service lights are on too. Checked all the fuses, they're good to go. Checked the alternator and it is not charging. Thinking that is why the service lights are on. This is kinda bizarre??
  15. Hello, I had my tranny flushed about 2 days ago and this morning my A/T TEMP light came on . I searched the forum and see that I probably need an aftermarket tranny cooler. It just seems strange that this light has never come on in the past??? Is there some sort of sensor wire that could have been bumped or disconnected while hooking the lines up to the flushing machine?? Has anyone encountered this or know why this occurs. I will throw on another cooler tonight. Thanks
  16. Thanks 88, that's just what I needed to know. I guess i'll head back out there and see if they're over a half inch thick. Rock On!
  17. You need the front coils out of the JGC, at least that seems to be the most popular. Some people run the old Ford coils, but they are way stiffer I guess.
  18. well i know i need the V8 springs, but i'm thinkin maybe the guys at the autoyard didn't label the springs properly and they are actually off a "Grand" cherokee (V8) So I was hoping someone knew if there is a way of confirming they are off a V8 or V6. But I might just head back out there and do some more measuring. Thanks!
  19. I finally found some coils I can use to lift my truck..I think??! They are labeled "1993 Jeep Cherokee" They have a 4" inner diameter and look like the V8 coils posted. I'm just wondering if there is a way to tell the difference between the V6 or V8 coils? or do they just have a different spring rate?? Anybody know the difference? Cheers! --------------------
  20. Those are some cool chimney dudes! lol
  21. Well the previous owner had them and included them in the buy, along with a full push-bar and rusty old hitch. I don't know much about the lights, except that they're amber and seem to be pretty tough. I almost snagged a factory light-bar on eBay but didn't win the auction, so I have them on the bumper.
  22. Interesting, hey what brand of body lift did you use? What year is your rig? I have an automatic 88 and am trying to find a 3" BL that will work with my truck.
  23. Hey all, I've been kickin around this forum for a few months now and thought i should say hello. I drive a 1988 3.0L XE and am lovin it! This is my first 4x4 and it is sooo gnarly. I just got her painted (had some horrid rocker panel and rear quarter rust) and got the bumpers powercoated. I also put some fender flares and BOSCH fog lights on the ol'beast. The site has been an unreal resource for valuable info, i look forward to kickin it on this site when I get into supsension and lifting. I'll have some pics soon. Cheers Hey, anybody else mudding it up in Saskatchewan!?
