What did you do to your Pathfinder today?
Cuong Nguyen replied to RedRider3141's topic in The Garage
I plan on doing the same thing too today after work. I have less than a 200 miles since the rebuild and I'm sure the motor will run a little bit better afterwards. I also need to put together a quick crankcase oil catch can. I currently have the valve covers free venting. I'm also going to try and replace the fuel filter too. I have a nasty exhaust leak which sounds like it's coming from the exhaust bank. Crap. -

I need to change out my fuel filter too. I bet it's full of rust from my Rusty gas tank. What's the difference with the maxima Maf? I have the vg30 so I know it's narrower in the opening. So the fuel hose size is 5/16th? I'll pick up some after work. -
First off, check for codes and start there. That's a lot of oil to be losing. Burning oil will eventually clog your cats. Fast. This will cause performance issues as its creating excessive backpressure. If there is any leaking, the rear main seal along with the valve covers is very common due to the rubber seals drying up and shrinking. Roaring if the fan is signs of a seized fan clutch. You can spin the fan by hand and see if it spins a little . If it does you're OK. It should have sought resistance. If it doesn't spin or is really hard to spin that means it's sticking. A stuck fan clutch will suck a lot of power from the motor and make it loud.

So the IAC was the culprit?

So I got two citations as it shows in the scanned ticket but the system only has me for just the parking in a fire Lane violation... I'm hoping the system does catch the slip. Let there be a leniency upon me! So much for my winch fund. -
Larger tires and offsets create additional stress on the balljoints, steering components, and the cv axleshafts. You should be ok though. Take it easy on the skinny pedal and wheel smart. It would be a good time to practice your cv shaft replacement skills just in case lol

My front driveshaft vibes at about 50 mph. Might not be good for high rpm wheeling. Finally saw a supercharged xterra in the pick and pull yard. Snagged the transfer case shift boot but the lower boot was torn. Better than nothing right now. -
Take a look in my re4r01a rebuild thread.

That is wierd. How is the idle when it's warm? I am not sure if the temp sensors has anything to do with it as I'm on familiar with the older model. Other guess is 02 sensor. Does opening the throttle help with the idle.

anyone know anything about the reed valve and the A I V AIR SYSTEM?
Cuong Nguyen replied to itsme1738's topic in The Garage
You could probably make your own or hit up the pick and pull. -
If you are 4wd, check the transfer case boot. The rubber boot may be torn below. It's pretty common for this age of vehicle.

Spent 4 hours trying to clean two seats. Grueling manual labor. I wished I had a wet cleaning vacuum. After all this it's scotch guard and seat covers. -

Have you looked at rockauto.com? They are half the price you are listing and you can use our discount codes in the vendor section.

That is interesting how your spring popped out like that. How did you catch it?

You still don't have any new stored codes? Have you tried testing the TPS or unplugging the oxygen sensor wire?

Highway test ride went uneventful so that's good. Still need to fix some engine issues and resolve handling. Issues.
