  1. morpheous, Before knowing anything about the recall I had found some rusting in the inner fedner area. I have already sanded/painted the area. Will Nissan be able to see the affected area? Should I sand all the paint off before bringing it in for the recall? There was no "rust thru" or perferation so I was not that alarmed.
  2. Good question. Both bolts broke off trying to remove the OEM mudflaps. Tried drilling the bolts out and no luck. Was able to pry off the bottom part of the flare and see those white tabs you are talking about. Went to Nissan dealer to see about getting these "pop riveted" parts replaced and was told they are not sold individually. Still dont see how the entire flare would come off without breaking those white tabs...
  3. Have always like the way the Path handled, its even better with the Missing Link!
  4. $15k... That is just plain Sad...
  5. Been a few months now, thanks John for a very affordable and easy to install upgrade. No complaints. Would definitley recommend soaking bolts overnite if you Path has seen salt. It will save a few hours if you are using handtools like I did.
  6. Installed mine this past week, cant say it is a World of Difference, but seems tighter. Also running closer to stock wheels and tires for the winter (245/65/17 Blizzaks on 17x8.5 wheels). Looking forward to seeing a bigger difference with summer wheels/tires (275/55/17) come spring. Just remember to douse the bolts with penetrating oil the nite before. I didnt, made a 10 min job about 3 hours with hand tools.... 10yrs of Salt and Winters are not kind to suspension parts (or anything for that matter).
  7. Although, this does not make "common sense" my Path was lower in the back like yours. I replaced the shocks with KYB Gas-A-Just, rear is higher. Stock shocks were 10 yrs old, when I took them off they did not expand. Rear sits higher now than it did. Shocks were inexpensive and very easy to install.
  8. I have a spare Dark Grey one if you are interested
  9. I cant say it any better than that!!!! Take Care Rob!!!
  10. GoPathy, That is good to hear! Have only met a few places like that. Went to a local dealer for A/C O-rings and he wanted $3.75 each.... List is around $2.30. He marked up an already insane list price... Sure I will go back.... Never Put in Mobil 1 for front diff and plan to use Mobil 1 synthetic for xfer case as well. I have never read anything negative about Amsoil but I didnt want to wait to order it.
  11. Run 31x12.50 Pro Comp Xterrains & 33x12.50 BFG All Terrains on My Ex. Both have been good tires. Little concerned about the Pro Comp blowout issue. Anyone have more info? Will do some searching. I was originally told the Pro Comp's were made by Cooper.
  12. I have a set of 15x10 Black Rock Crawlers on my Ex. Really like them. I think I would go with any on your list though, and pick the least expensive. They are all name brand. I liked the Rock Crawlers as they had a great buy on them along with Pro Comp Xterrain tires at the time. And I didnt like the "red line" around the rim other manufacturers had. They also claimed to be Made in the USA which I feel is important for offroading etc.
  13. he was looking for a "cheap" tire that is not a cheapo..... michelin's are not cheap-never have been. there are cheaper tires out there which is the reason I pointed out the Goodyears. they are affordable in smaller sizes but quite pricey in larger sizes. great tire -- absolutely. cant go wrong with them. re: Kuhmo's, I had a set of Kuhmo Ecsta STX's in 265/60/17. Very affordable but all 4 of the tires had belt seperation within 3 years. I was unable to reach Kuhmo rep directly and unable to get a reply from Kuhmo (via phone or email). Needless to say that will be the last set of Korean Kuhmnoway's I will every buy. These things can happen with any manufacturer can happen, and I realize that. But if they would have replied I may feel otherwise.
  14. I agree Michelin LTX are great tires, but they are not cheap.
  15. It looks like the Weapon R and Weapon Dragon use the same tube? Anyone have pics of this installed on their 3.3? I have the Jim Wolf POP charger. I would like to keep the POP charger and only replace the stock rubber. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  16. Installed the KYB Gas A Just shocks tonite. Didnt have time to test drive. Hope to test drive tomorrow & experience a positive handling improvement. 1 minor annoyance, they are white shocks and look like shid. Would much rather have had silver like the GR2's. My Pathfinder is Sherwood with Grey flares/bumpers.
  17. Check local Wal Mart stores. I am not sure if they are still available but they were 4 months ago.
  18. Have OME leaf springs on my Ex and they are the stuff. Wanted to go with the shocks but they are quite pricey. Have read alot of postive reviews on them but wasnt prepared to pay the price for them.
  19. fleurys, Big Thanks I will check them out tomorrow! Much Appreciated. I have a lifted Explorer with leaf springs and am not familiar with the suspension on the Pathfinder. If it is just a few bolts to replace the bushings I may replace them even if they do not look bad. The bump drives me crazy. Keep us posted on the fix/brand bushings you replace with etc. Thanks!!
  20. I think the 235/75/r15's are going to look a little small but have u considered the Goodyear Wrangler at Wal Mart. They are currently $70. Some stores had them for $55 last summer. This version of the Wrangler used to be called the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S and I had them in a size 31x11.50x15 many years ago. They have a 50k warr. Just a thought. If money wasnt a huge concern I would highly recommend the other recommendations of the Michelin LTX though. I have also liked the Bridgestone Duelers that came stock on the Pathfinder. I run them in the winter with the stock wheels.
  21. We test drove an 08 and we did like the way it drove. It is alot bigger/taller than a R50. Alot more powerful than the 3.3V6 we have but what isnt.... In my opinion I didnt think the fit and finish was as good as a Japanese made R50 but if I was in the market I would definitely give the V8 a look (they didnt have a V8 at the time on the lot). As far as not dealing, they are out of their mind....
  22. I am having the same problem. Can you be a little clearer on upper arm link bushing. Or show a pic? Have you fixed it yet? I will be replacing my rear shocks soon. Spent some time underneath replacing fuel filter, fuel filter bracket (bolt rusted/broke), and replacing rear axle fluid and didnt notice anything bent. Thanks!
  23. "Disconnect" by Rollins Band. Its a real positive motivational song..... Almost as good as "Low Self Opinion" by Rollins Band. I dont recommend listening to Rollins while driving in congested traffic though. The positive vibes are just too much.
  24. I just ordered a set of KYB Gas-a-Adjusts. Supposed to be firmer and handle better than the KYB GR-2's. I have no experience with these shocks, have read a few positive results. Hoping they handle like the Edelbrock IAS performers I had on my Ex when it was at stock height. There is just not much out there in the aftermarket Pathfinder R50 world... Any other opinions out there. I am new to the Pathfinder forum here. Thanks
