so you complain about the gov't "stealing" our taxes.....lol
-
or just pay the $2 per switch or whatever
-
ebay! Do a search for nissan terrano and some usually come up. Tex had one I was unable to buy at the time
-
Pay now or pay later. lol. Really I agree with kingman, it doesnt hurt to try the JY.
-
oh, and as you have a 1998 you should have the revised transmission fill hole that lets you fill to the required amount of 5.somthing quarts.
-
at least ones from the dealership will last another 15+ years
-
might just be worth it to find switches at the JY, or get new ones if they are still avail at the dealer.
-
drain it and use GL4. The trannies are meant to be overfilled. Usually to do this people will fill from the shift insert.

That sounds like it works. In that case x2 what GG said.

are you sure the thermostat is working? even with air in the system it shouldnt get that hot unless the water isnt circulating.
-
the bad alternator can fry your tranny. I think thats what did in mine as it only started having problems when i put the electric fan in and i didnt have enough juice. I think solidsnake on here had the same thing happen to him.
-
could try replacing the rad cap too.
-
check for leaks in your cooling system. I am having the same kind of overheating problems after changing my head gasket, thermostat, radiator, etc. While working on stuff for the transmission the other day I noticed that coolant has leaked from the rubber hose connecting the thermostat houseing to the metal tube below. It has left a trail of green stuff. I havent confirmed this but the leak could be allowing air into the system. This would mess up the cooling efficiency of the system.

could be a good time to change t-case fluid
-
That would be awesome for those of us with deficiencies of the brain when it comes to electrical stuff. Would they be waterproof you think?
-
i dont think that would be far fetched. actually i think that would be neat

couple more questions on wiring: what is the Park Neutral Switch relay for, and why do I need to jumper it? what does the Neutral Position Switch do?

Is there a trick to getting the drive shaft bolts off? They are really on there good and tight. Funny thing is they look perfectly clean, no rust or dirt. Just can't get them off. lol. Was quite successful this morning. The starter comes out so easily with those AT cooler lines out of the way! I'll be selling the aftermarket cooler when the time comes. Amazing how much more crap goes with the AT than with the MT.

nah, the pads dont bother me, i just thought it was amusing. I probably will get some cheap aftermarket ones at some point though. I got 2 clutch cylinder caps from the junkyard. The problem is that neither fit the cylinder. So I went back to the Junkyard and found a cylinder with a cap on it, I only took the white fluid holding part and was planning on just switching it out. The thing is though, is that it is shorter than the one I have on there already. I dont want to loose fluid capacity so I'll check on the style of what I have and get back to you. I think the turn-style one will work. cool, thanks. I might buy some assembly lube JIC, but will make sure to clean the surfaces extremely well

looks nice and clean. Good luck with the install!

things haven't been going quite as fast as I would like....when do they ever? lol Got the flywheel resurfaced for a mean $30 at a shop in mesa. While I was there stopped at the JY and picked up a few pieces that I was missing. So, I have everything now except a shift knob! haha Was supposed to have dropped the auto tranny by today, but I didnt have much time to work on the truck yesterday, and last nights overnight shift really wore me out. Slept till about 2pm, lol, and then couldnt be arsed to rush outside and get started. Had not so much fun trying to get the bolts off the header crossover pipe. One snapped in half. Should I use assembly grease when replacing the tranny seals? do I just press them in? (seals always make me nervous)

schizophrenic? lol

What do I need to adjust to solve this problem?
beastpath replied to v6engine's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
TRE = tie rod end CL = centerlink as far as toe in, you can adjust that by adjusting your tie rods. however I have been told you can also adjust it by adding shims to one of your uppercontrol arm bolts. -
i have the factory bike rack that is for two bikes. it is designed to fit on the factory rails so i dont see why another set up wouldnt work on the factory rails aswell.
