  1. Hi Dan, ahh that was my first Pathfinder too. The rest you ought to post in the garage or year approp. forum.
  2. Any idea how much? I am gonna go by a couple yard here in a bit but who knows if I'll find a pathy.
  3. shoot 88, i just remember one shaft pointing forward and the thing is bolted kinda to the side and back of the tranny. I did not see any leaks but will exchange all fluids just in case. The rear diff was done just a few k ago, i think. i'll be out in the country tomorrow to check and work on it some. The tires aren't here yet though.
  4. Thanks 88, it's on 4 stands right now but 30mi away so we'll try the 2x4 trick this weekend. I'm gonna try the stealer on that one too. We'll see if they could track it down. OK, it's been waaay too long: t-case = tranfer case? is that the one to the driver's side and rear of tranny? engages the 4wheel drive with the forward drive shaft? that's where the noise is coming from. I though that was the front diff, but will have to look this weekend. darn, i wish i could find my old book... I'll ask about the fluids on my next trip to the parts store and post.
  5. try 4x4parts.com, they may have them. not sure though. I haven't dealt with them yet. I am having problems finding parts around here. I just hate to go to the stealer though... I've been out of the Nissan loop for too long. lol One of these other guys should be able to steer you in the right dir...but try the above and see. good luck
  6. what 88 said, and carolinas are very hot so get one if you have the time. New tranny $3k+.
  7. do you guys recommend Optimas? i sure would like to have a dry cell. how are they with winches?
  8. cool, i'll have to give'em a call and see if they can be of help. thanks sw
  9. maybe we should do a group buy
  10. that info should be on drivers visor, flip and read :contract: wellcome
  11. The first thing I did to my 94 was to check the whole front end out. That seems to problem area especially if the PO drove the heck out of it. Allthough if they did good maintenence then it should be kool. Definately put in grease fittings in all components that are designed to have them (about 10) and greas'em up. It does make me wonder why the timing belt was done at 63k. in my owners manual they call for 110k. the pre 90s were at 60k though. you didn't mention plugs/wires etc... but that's something i'd check for sure too. they probably were done at timing belt but who knows. I have had no probs using after market parts/fluids on my 89 but not that familiar with the my 94 yet. good luck, you bought your daughter one heck of a good vehicle.
  12. Oh, i appreciate your answer sw, medium duty is? 75w90? should i go with higher numbers or lower. seems maybe i do have lsd since the wheels spin in the same dir. but there is no sticker of any kind. is there another way to find out? no ideas on the possible grinding sounds? hopefully it is not going kaput. thanks p.s. i don't think i could hide under that chair - 6-2; only if it was metric maybe then
  13. Ok, it worked this time. It just didn't like partial b-day (month/day only hmm?)
  14. Man, the juice went up 20c over night. It's $1.93 and up for the cheap stuff. pssd  I thought we got Saddam allready?!
  15. Anothe lucky bastid. Hi there...
  16. kool, that makes sense. thanks man. -bounce-
  17. It's around 1.75 for the cheap stuff. The price flactuates daily around here. I have seen the expensive stuff for 2.09 the other day though. pssd
  18. Yes, I did see that but he also said the above. I don't think MRs go where he points to on his pics. They go on the underside and he seems to think they are part of the lifters which I do not thus my clarification.
  19. I am pretty sure those are allignement guides for your heads. They go into recesses of 2 of the head bolts in the heads and block; one in the front and one in the back, top and bottom (catty-corner from each other) They fit in the underside of your head (cardboard side in your pic) Look for two larger holes. Just one look and that was my feeling but it has been a while..Hope that helps.
  20. ...onto plugs? I use a dab of vaseline and the slide on and off pretty easy. making your own wires... that's kool.
