  1. Maybe your AT is in power mode. That'll surely do it. Or possibly OD isn't working.
  2. I am not 100% certain but I doubt that everything is grounded on one spot. All other cars I have ever worked on, every thing was always grounded separately, meaning that each component has it's own ground. Since you are having ghost makes me think that maybe it's the voltage reulator. Please keep us posted on your results/solutions. Very interesting. I hope you can get this fixed quickly and cheaply.... You can have your charging system checked for free at AutoZone.

  4. Not bad but what about the heat. Asking to fry it. Maybe 88 knows or someone else who checks out other boards but there was a thread out there about moving the ECU to the glove compartment. It has enough of room and I think the cable is long enough etc.... Has anybody here done that? In this case it seems that the glove comp stayed dry, barely but prob OK; and this case is one of the more seviere ones.
  5. I forgot to post here a couple of weeks ago but this is the first time ever that the gas price actually went down 10c-15c/gal here right before the Memorial Day holiday. We also have The 500 and it allways goes up for that. ($1.87/gal) Right now it even lower. I just got some last night for $1.77. election time is nearing...

  7. by your guys' description, and without hearing this for myself, I'll take a guess with exhaust components. Maybe a hairline fracture in the headers, pipe, cat, muff may make a sound like that. my 2 pence

  11. Yup, sometimes some bushing (rubber) maybe worn out in the rear end and the veh. will sway when you gun it or slam brakes and it may clunk or whatever. all that stuff is in proximity. Oil change is def in order just to see what it looks like. If you have a lot of metal shavings in the oil, well you know you have trouble. If you have the orange sticker then 80w90 with lsd additive.

  13. depends on how much oil. when the valve guides go it's pretty darn black dudes. if it's just a bit rich than it may look blue also.
  14. yah,, find out the codes, otherwise it could be too many things. buring oil will give black exhaust as well as very rich mix.
  15. diesel boy, matterhorn, exactly. If you rev and only very slowly (dragging) engage the clutch that's what wears the clutch the most. I normally only use the clutch for 1st gear when accelerating and when coming to stop to dis-engage. otherwise i just slip out of a gear and into the next one letting off on the gas a bit. on downshift you have to rev the motor up, 3k or so, and it slips right in. hardly any wear on the clutch. Sooo, even when going out you can still make the necessary trips.
  16. ya, what kinda noises? any movement in the rear end when you floor it? it does kinda sound like you have lsd to me. maybe time for fluid change? sometimes that may give you some clues...

Simon, picked one up today. fits nice allthough you kind of have to squeez it in there a bit. slevin maybe that the same thing in your case. it does seem that if it's centered on the brake it's closer a bit to the drivers seat though. hmm? did you guys just run the screws through or is there other means of attachment?
  18. 50k and you need a new clutch? Hmmm, need to learn to not use the clutch; shift like a trucker man.
