  1. Just starting out (gravelessghost) and addicted already, Got a little problem though........ I have a high lift jack(equipped) and a shovel but when I HIT THE TRAIL, Game says I don't have a trail tool and it takes forever to just FLOOR IT. Do I need a certain amount of experience or something else to use my highlift? Thanks Dave
  2. Searching around and found this guy, http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...1545&id=597 A true artist. There are more Pathies on the site, but none compare to his.
  3. Aren't Ya glad Ya didn't junk it? Just looked in my Haynes manual. They make it sound pretty easy to change, just need 2 hydraulic jacks and hand tools/torque wrench.
  4. How 'bout another shot of this rig. Wish this was under my tree!
  5. Just learning to post pictures , Hope you can see this SWEET RC rig. [/img]
  6. I see a lot of vehicles like this at Canfield Ohios truck fest. No front drive shaft because the angle's to steep, or somethings in the way. Rear end holds up because it's basically a trailer queen. Driven around on surface streets, gravel pits and truck jamborees. Bet it really impresses the ladies though. Bigger tires are always better, right?
  7. Front Rear Differential? I totally agree, get your Pathy out of that shop.
  8. diecast2door http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ME:B:EF:US:1123 Duh,Thanks for reminding me. (and for the moderation) Found a plastic model and this well used 2 door.
  9. Just watched the Pathfinder commercial where G.I. Joe saves Barbie from drowning with the help of a really cool miniature Pathfinder. Used the search button (honest, i did) any didn't find any posts on this topic. Did they make any Pathfinder toys? I have a bunch of old Stomper stuff in the attic waiting for my 3yr old to get a little older before I dig 'em out, and now that I own one it'd be nice to have a few smaller ones for my kid (and me) NOPE I'll never grow up
  10. It's at the frame shop, waiting on the estimate. Oh, the catalytic converter got cut off while it sat at the dealers. In fact all the vehicles at the dealer had the converters cut off. If your going to that much trouble, you my as well get a real job.
  11. This is kinda fun in a sick way, Like playing detective Still getting the run around..... Filed a complaint with the BBB, e-mailed the local paper and am going to get my Pathfinder back from the dealers today(Sat) even if I have to call the cops( They have it blocked in by other vehicles for some reason) A reverse directory search of the dealers cell phone number came up with a different name. his answering machine says his name is Jim Armadas? directory says Jim Morris HMMMM. still searching for an address. Receipt from the dealer says Automotion car sales... The temp tag registration says Jeff's millennium car sales. Also they had about 6 cars on e-bay and now their profile and all the cars on auction have been deleted. I'm worried if I don't get it back soon it's gonna disappear too. should have just taken it to the frame shop in the 1st place. Have to let the weld shop know I plan on lifting it AND taking it off-road. don't want the frame breaking in 1/2 on the trail. Pictures coming soon.
  12. More bad news. Have been getting the run around from the dealer. So I started looking into taking him to small claims court. Talked to the Ohio Attorney generals office and they told me Ohio's a BUYER BEWARE STATE If I bought it as is, No matter what happens after I drive it off the lot, there's nothing I can do about it. She told me it would be a waste of my money to take him to small claims court. It's still sitting at the dealers, guess I'll wait and see how honest this used car dealer really is. If he's not going to do anything. it might be worth the $60.00 to take him to small claims court just to mess with him. If ya don't know this already... Don't buy a car "as is" in a BUYER BEWARE state.
  13. New and having trouble sending the picture.......Can you click on it and see it? if not I'll try again. Dave
  14. Found it while looking for a Pathfinder without a rusted frame in the rust belt.
  15. I paid $2000.00 $1500.00 would be worth it to me. I really love the dang thing. But for $3500 I might be able to find one with a good frame. If the dealer wants his guy to do it,I'm going to have it checked out by my frame shop after. I could be wrong but I think a vehicles frame would be very difficult to do right. Don't want the thing driving down the road sideways or ripping in 1/2 again on the trail 50 miles from anywhere. Dave
  16. GOT AN ESTIMATE Frame specialist in town will make a whole new rear frame section for $1500.00 Dealer says it's not worth it and he's got a certified welder that might be able to fix it. Stay tuned for 'AS THE PATHFINDER RUSTS'
  17. Just curious..... I have a 1985 Ford F-150 4x4 with manual Warn hubs and I can shift on the fly well over 25mph from 2wd to 4Hi and back again with no problems. My Suzuki's were the same way. Not that mine's going anywhere soon, But Why do (all?) pathfinders have to be shifted from 2 to 4Hi below 25mph? Dave
  18. From what I found out on da web, I should have some ground to stand on in small claims court. Most states have a Implied warranty of merchantability law Problem is I can't seem to find anything in Ohio. What really bums me out is I love the Pathfinder, If I get my money back I'm gonna look for another one. Check it out. It was E-bay item # 110202546321 If i can find my @#$#@$ digital camera I'll post some pictures. Should have bought it on E-bay, Instead I made him an offer. At least it was me 2 miles from the dealer and not someone intending to drive it home to Canada. I'll keep letting ya know how it goes, if your interested. Dave
  19. Well, I pulled out of my driveway tonight and heard a loud CLUNK. brake pedal went to the floor......Right rear frame section completely in 1/2 took out the brake line. Can't even get it to the frame shop now. It's sitting in my driveway with less than 20 miles on it since I bought it 3 days ago. 2 miles from the dealership. Bought it as is. I think each states different. Can't find anything about Ohio law Can the used car dealer legally sell me a very unsafe vehicle? Broken hearted in Ohio Dave
  20. Well, I'm probably not the 1st or the last. Step 1. Buy a really clean looking '95 Pathfinder Step 2. Join this forum Step 3. Read about the frame rust issues around the rear wheel wells Step 4. Inspect Step 5. suddenly get very depressed Have just used search in this forum and yahoo. Plenty of info on do it yourself patches and partial/complete frame replacements, but can't seem to find any info on what welding shops have charged other people. Doubt it can be patched, probably have to replace with a new section. Don't feel confident enough to fix it myself and will take it to a local shop Monday....... Just wanted to have an idea of how much. So maybe I won't be as sick to my stomach all weekend as I am right now. >Update< Talked to a local Frame specialist and guess what... He's working on a Pathfinder in his shop right now. Went to drive over there and guess what.... starter made 1 click then nothing. Should have ask him what he's charging that guy,DUH! Will get a quote 1st thing Mon. Dave by the way..... forgive me if this post is not in the right section and THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this forum and it's search engine. Read all about the intermittent starting issues. Tried a few things and when I held the key over to the start position for a few seconds she fired right up, and continues to start. After reading more posts on the topic I'm gonna try the relay first.
  21. Hi everybody, Glad to find this forum. Owned a couple of Suzuki samurai's and really liked the friendly Suzuki community. I get the same sense of family, reading this forum. Just bought a 1995 Pathfinder SE 3.0/automatic, with probably every luxery item Nissan could think to throw on her. Leather interior and Power everything.....NOT what I usually look for in a trail rig I plan on gettin' wet and muddy Speaking of Power everything, a lot of it appears to not work as well as a few of the other common problems talked about on this forum, Like.... 1.Temp. gage not working 2. exhaust manifold leak. 3. ABS and brake light both on 4. Tach needle bounces all over. 5. comfort/sport shock switch working???? No light. 6. Power door locks possessed. 7.Rear tire carrier light staying on Etc...Etc... I got it pretty cheap though, and the only thing I read about in the forums that really scares me, is that I have no idea when or even if the timing belt has ever been changed. Don't want valves hitting pistons so that'll be my 1st priority. I plan on lightly modifying it with.... A. an OME lift kit B. 31/10.50/15s with steel rims Stock tire size? it's got 265/75/15s on there now with no lift. I have a really nice set of 31/10.5/15s I'd like to use with the OME lift kit C. Gearing and limited slip or air lockers D. Bumpers/armor E. Winch- probably hydraulic Also from reading this forum I think I'm gonna restore(beef up) the front end/ steering and get Warn lockouts before I install the lift. Missing anything? And now I'm gonna puke out all the mandatory newbi questions spinnin' around in my empty head. Calmini the best source for a heavy duty front steering fix? What repair manual do most of you guys/gals use? What kind of differential gearing sizes did Nissan use for the different motors, standard and auto transmissions, transfer cases Etc...Etc.... (mines a 3.0 V-6 with auto transmission) Guessing they put lower gears in the 4cyl standard shifts. Well, I better stop there before I wear out my welcome. I should be able to find all the answers to those questions by reading/searching this forum so you don't have to reply. Just excited about my new rig and wanted to say HI!!! Pictures coming soon (to dark now) Later Dave
