uhh ohh; honest mistake? i think i'll flush it out and do it again tomarrow, but this time w/ only 4 quarts. would anyone like me to change their oil? sly
-
well, it's real hard to find the troubled spot because everything is wet. front fender well, all the way to the rear end. i had my uncle take a look at it he said that you might of put too many quarts of oil. he asked me my driving conditions. it was uphill most of the time, before i noticed smoke, i kept punching it, it was shifting from 4th the 3rd, i think i'll call that hard driving. after i pulled over, check it out and continued, i drove it extra easy, and no leak. i'm guess, may be the oil got real hot and when it gets hot it expands and shoot out of the overflow vent or whatever it's call. do we have thoughs? another, our pathys take 6 quarts right? i'm starting to feel like an idiot. that might explain the motor, but what about the tranny? i can't figure that one out. the last time the tranny oil was serviced was when i got it rebuild.

hey guys, i don't know if you guys remember but a while ago, i posted up that my truck had tranny oil underneith the truck. well, yesterday, i drove out to the desert, it's about 1 hour away. anyway, about 20mins. into the driving, i notice smoke behind me, so i pull over. when i stopped, there was smoke comming from the shifter and vents. i went down to peak, it was soaking wet w/ motor oil and tranny oil. i'm seriously sick of this truck, any ideas on what's going on? i couldn't figure out what the problem was or where it was leaking from, i was obvisioly low on both oil. help

i think it's kinda ugly that he chopped off the rear. don't get me wrong, the truck is bad a$$, i think he should of tubed out the rear, made the tubbing in place of the rear top. looks its doing something here

Don't use 100 Watt bulbs for your foglights!

ohhh. so no wonder my lenses where cracked, huh. i replaced the factory fog lights with IPF. not bad. they were free, my uncle gave them to me. -
i'm with n0cturne74, the louder the squeaks, the louder the music, just crank up the volume and you'll be fine.

hey man, that's so weird, i have the same problem, but i think mine is comming from the windshield, i think it's loose or something, but yeah, about a week ago, i had real loud annoying tapping, squeaking comming from the passenger side neer the corner of the windsheild. it ended but being one of the clips being broken from the piller plastic cover. your saying yours is comming from the dashboard area. it would be that the windsheild might be loose like mine. maybe the pillar cover, or some other stuff in there. check those things about before you start ripping stuff out.

hey, i'm interested in the heads as well, i'm not in a desprete need for it, but i can use it if it's avaible. robinasu may need it more than me. question about the heads, are the studs broken into the heads from the manifold?

no, i haven't thought about the valve guide seals. right now she's seems to be running better, the steam usually goes away after she's all warmed up. that's normal, but now, she's leaking oil like krazy. you know, my path is weird, when ever it gives me problems, well not really problems, inconvience, it seems to fix it's self right up and the problem never shows again.

that's what i thought, i don't think i've ever heard of the t-bars breaking, i got the thicker ones because i didn't know that much about things like that, but now i do, whole different world. i would of put the coils on my self. i'm an idiot for paying for it to be done. however, i do like the stiff ride too. it's pretty cool.
-
when i was planning on lifting my path, i just wanted to buy only the coils for the rear and crank the t-bars. when i was at a offroad shop to find out how much to put the rear coils in and crank the t-bars w/ allignment, this guy that had a hardbody told me that it's not a good idea to have the t-bars crank. because the t-bars are tighten, and if their tighten isn't the ride stiffer? and isn't there a chance where the t-bars might snap if you were to land hard enough? what i did, i ordered the 3inch lift kit from AC the UCA's and the coils. i also got thicker 27 or 28mm sway-a-way t-bars that are cranked but supposably stronger than the stock. no problems yet.

i just recently put in the K&N replacement airfilter and boy it runs so much better, it used to bog, the acceleration totally sucked, but now, it kicks hiney. and the filter is about 50 bucks and installation is about 10secs. that's the easy route.

it's been a few days now and i've check my oil, it's good, my tranny oil is good as well as my coolant. maybe it's just steam and i was just exagerating(spell) thinking it's something else. the tranny oil undernieth the truck, it's fine now it's all, well, not dryed up but it's not wet anymore. you guys menchined that it might of been power steering fluid becaue of the color, makes sense but the level is fine on that one as well. weird. just weird. hey but i gotta love it. i don't think i'll be taking it 4wheeling anymore until i get a new truck(a dodge), my only transportation, dont' wanna risk breaking it and being w/ out a vehicle.
-
the oil is red, it has to be the transmission, because i only two things that it could be, tranny and engine, i wish i had a t-case. but, no it wasn't wet before i headed out to the mountains, i might go underneith her and check out it, spend some time and see where it's comming from i'm guess it's some seal that went out on me. regarding the smoke from the exhaust, the smoke goes out about three feet and then goes away. i'm hoping it's steam, but today it couldn't be steam. it was like 70 degrees out.

hey man, i'm sorry to hear that. but what maritime was saying about getting it salvage. well you can do that. the ins. usually sends it out to a salvage car auction like copart. but how bad is the damage and is it worth buying it back and fixing it, remember that salvage cars or truck usually go for 30% of what the cars worth. so the cost of the truck and parts and maybe labor(if your going to do it yourself or have someone else do it) might be cheaper if you just let her go and get a new one. anyway, sorry to hear the loss of your pathy, i'd cry like forever. good luck buddy.

well. in the morning or when ever i start my path up i have white smoke comming out of the exhaust pipe. i know that in the morning gets cold but after 10-15 mins , shouldn't it go away. this morning when i started her up, i had white/blueish smoke comming out, thought it could of been from the cold. so i tried my moms car and nothing was comming out her exhaust pipe? could it be a seal or something. oh yeah another thing, i drove about 165miles yesterday to the mountains round trip, when first got there, i noticed that my rear-end is wet. so i bent over to look under neith her, i had tranny oil all under there. all over the crossmembers, the driveshaft, everywhere. what's that? please help, i'm starting to give up on her which i don't want to. :help: too many problems: windsheild rattling, the tranny oil all underneith, the white smoke, manifolds. help

i'm pretty sure that thing was done on purpose, nothing seemed to be missing, all the seats, steering wheel, wheels, the dash and etc. was still there. insurance fraud. and we all wonder why insurance is so dam high.

went wheelin a while ago and found this on the trail. charcoled path click here to view

yeah it can be done, i highly doubt it can be done in your driveway. if you do it you should do it at a bodyshop. my uncles have a bodyshop and we've changed frames on vehicles before, but i don't think it's financally worth it. if you want to do it, go to a junkyard and buy a whole truck to take the frame off and swamp it. ask around body shops they should be the only ones who will probably do it.

how much are the headers from summit and are they worth it? would they crack?
