  1. Well I just found this out about my 93 so I don't think I need it. Just started using photobucket lets hope this works. As you can see I have a little bit of a power steering leak. Have to get new hoses for it. Is this an updated steering system???? I was really surprised to see the Idler brace under it today. James
  2. Well lets see. I have my first ever Pathy an 87 2dr XE-V6 5spd that has 202k+ on everything but the engine. Had it replaced at around 168k or so and it still had the factory clutch at that time. New clutch, engine installed by Nissan. Engine was replaced due to woodruff key chipping crank and moving the width of the key off. Luckily no valve to piston contact. Now I just got a 93 XE-V6 5spd that has 258k+ on it and I believe it is still the original engine. Will check when I have to do all my work on the engine soon. James.
  3. I have a 93 pathy and want to do this swap for my steering. Is there a way to do it and not have to buy a new pitman arm???? If so let me know, great write up by the way. James
  4. Trans controller should be on the passenger side above the tire hump. That and the front speaker amp on 6-8 speaker units are there. James
  5. The key to what you just said is that you are going to re-sleeve the tube. I believe Mauitrailguy is taking about how peps don't bother with the re-sleeve to make it safe. James
  6. Yeah figured as much. I will keep a look out for me a front axle from a heep. Finally stopped raining so will be putting pics of my nissans up in the rides section this week. James

  9. Man that stuff reminds me of the red ga clay I got here. Will have to try and get pictures if I ever get a chance to go out trail riding again in the future.
  10. Thats what I thought. My 87 2dr pathy is going to be sidelined for awhile due to front suspension issues and I was thinking for trading all of its MT stuff to the 95 HB truck thats an AT. Cheapest local AT tranny from jy is $550. But may have luck at Pull-A-Part, have 4 within 2hr drive from me, 3 in atlanta and 1 in knoxville.
  11. I know that this is not directly related to this vehicle but has anyone done an auto to 5-speed swap and if so how hard and is there a write up here somewhere??
  12. Thanks appreciate all of the help and advice. If it stops raining here in N Georgia I will crawl under and take a look. I feel pretty stoked about this purchase. Even with 258K+ on the odo it still runs strong. Will be doing the tbelt and all of the front of the engine stuff very soon. Want to make sure that it will run for another 60K safe from a bad tbelt. I also heard a little squeaking from the front today while waiting in the drive thru line. May have an idler pulley going bad as well. It is good that I may have a parts truck for this just in case. Will give an update when weather is permitting.
  13. OMG I have never seen a pathfinder or any car still on the road with that much rust. You could say that the rust is the only thing holding this pathy together. Will be watching your builds as I always need inspiration for my own. James

  15. Cool, thanks for the help on search. I checked my codes for the ABS today and it flashed 9 times which is supposed to be an open sensor??? Any advice would be appreciated.

  17. All the fluids are good but PO said he was working on CV axles, makes no sense that they would make the ABS light come on. I'm going to do the bleed method and see how she goes. Will first check and see what the module says is wrong with it. I can't find the listing for the what the light flashes stand for can someone post that or point me to the right thread. Search doesn't seem to be working for me.
  18. My 86.5 has 202K+ on the odometer. Although had the woodruff key eat up crank snout and dealership put new motor in for me. Was cheaper then a rebuild. That motor has less than 50K on it.
  19. Well I just got me a 93 XE-V6 5-speed pathy. Will be my daily driver and now I can start to get my parts together for a SAS on the 2dr 86.5 pathy. Will the beefed up steering for the stock trucks work once the SAS is done??? I will be needing to do some steering work on the 93 and was wondering if I should save up and bye more than one CL upgrade for the steering. James
  20. Thanks will give it a try. Like I said will be doing quite a bit of work for it over the next couple of months. Will be doing the tbelt and a full tune up first and formost.
  21. Have not been able to check the sensor yet. With just getting a 93 Pathy and work having me on call from Sunday till this Saturday, I have not had much time for working on my trucks. I will be parking the 86.5 and slowly start working on getting the stuff to do a SAS on it. If I can get my 95 King Cab HB running again I may switch the block from the 2door to my HB. It has sat for about 2 yrs with a non working auto tranny and now the engine wont turn over. I hope it is just that I need a new battery and that one I tried is getting alittle weak. If it wont crank it looks like engine work in the very near future. May just get the HB running and driving and sell it for funds for the SAS and the work on my 93. Thanks for the advice concerning my ride. James
  22. I just purchased a 93 Pathy XE V6 5-speed from a fellow NPORA member and local. Love will be posting pics of it and my other 2 nissans soon. My issues are with the radio amps acting up and the ABS light is on all the time. I know that the ABS on most pathys doesn't even come into play unless you have a heavy load and while I will be pulling a small enclosed trailer it shouldn't be for long distances or at high speeds. Can I remove the ABS stuff like the sensor and module and it be ok. Will definately remove the bulb on the ABS light. My new girl has 258k + miles on her and I will doing alot of work to keep her in great shape. Any advice on the ABS or radio is welcome. James
  23. That is pretty cool. I just picked up a 93 Pathy XE-V6 5-speed today with 285K on the odometer. I found her for sale on the forum and the owner was in my hometown. I think it was destined to be. I will try and get some pics posted soon of it and my 86.5 XE-V6 5-speed which has 202K on the odometer.
