Am I old if I love Annie Lennox? Not the look, the voice....she makes my spine tingle.
I dont know why, but of her music I like:
'Love Song for a Vampire' and 'No More I Love Yous'

Speaking of feeling old...
Earlier this morning I commented that it seemed like a Laurel and Hardy movie at a shop we send parts to.
The young co worker from behind says "who is Laurel and Hardy?"

So they are going to fix it! Level 2 repair on both sides. they have to order the parts but they should be calling in a few days to set up the appointment.
They are going to do the fuel tank filler pipe as well.
My experience with the dealer was great. everyone was nice. they drove me home (across town) then came to pick me up when the assessment was done. not a word about my aftermarket springs, strut spacer or wheel spacers.
I'll post pics when the work is done.
Being warranty work, you may get a survey in the mail from Nissan when the repair is done.
If you have been happy with the dealership, the people you have been dealing with there and how you were treated, fill out your Nissan survey.
Good scores can = $ checks directly from Nissan to the people (technicians and service writers) that assisted you. Not in the hands of the dealership owner.
In addition, a written letter from you to Nissan about your positive experience can also do the same thing.

brake booster check valve?? Where's that?
It is inline on the large hose along the firewall coming from the brake booster. It has a diaphragm in it that allows air to flow one direction but not another. It wears out over time and reduces the braking of the truck. It will make the vehicle brakes feel 'soft' when it is worn out. I have had many people take my suggestion and change it an come back and tell me they noticed a difference. It is about $15 and easy to replace.

After looking at the FSM it appears to me your problem is a faulty ignition switch or corroded/loose ignition switch connectors.
Door chime, power windows, power door locks, power seats, and power sunroof all need circuits on the ignition switch to be closed to operate and the ignition relay to be good.
This would also explain your intermittent cranking issue.
These all also share ground M4 an M66.

That sounds very very expensive for them!
Its all what the bean counters say when it comes to insurance work.
-
Kinda makes me want to order one..... lovely and black and painted and new...
sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder
they are still availble last time I checked.
$3,102.75
Plus and obscene amount of freight charges and Canadian VAT.

Replace the MC, its not expensive. When you do replace all the brake fluid with fresh fluid.
Replace your brake booster check valve too, it is old; this will also help with the spongy.
Make sure your rotors and drums are within specs and the pads and shoes are within spec.

Can I install all of my WD21 parts on it? And just for kicks: how much for that beast??
sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder
$3,203.20 for the part. $150 for us to deliver it to the body shop. We hired a flat bed wrecker to come pick it up and take it to them tomorrow.
Had to use a forklift to get it off the semi today.
In the rain.

Why?
An insurance company decided to repair the vehicle instead of total it......

Armada truck frame anyone?

I am at a loss.
But I know it is nothing CR-V related!

So I have been looking at the calender in my office.
At some point I wrote 'C-R' on the calendar for May 9th which is tomorrow.
I can not figure out what 'C-R' is or meant. It must have been important for me to write on on there in the first place......

The white square connector is to check the rear ABS system.

The first plug with the black insualtion is the power supply for the driver side footwell lamp is your vehicle was equipt with it. XE would nto be. Usually see it on the LE grades.

That tool set you linked will probably not work for you.
The tools are the same on the Pathfinder from 10/95 - 07/01.
So any Pathfinder from those dates will work for you. A salvage yard would be a good place to find them.
OR
Part Number: 99552-01G00
MSRP is $18, your local dealer can get one if you want to go that route.

If you own a Juke or know someone how does there is an engine recall that they should do if their VIN is on the list.
The parts for it are already starting to go to back-order while Nissan plays catch up on parts supply. Get it done early and avoid the wait.

Let me know how it goes with the dealer up there. I am curious what they say.
Was Nissan Canada cooperative on the phone?
