The General Grabber AT2s on my wife's Pathfinder have been great so far in the mud and sand of the Texas Gulf. They start to show their weakness in cold/freezing weather when they loose overall grip on pavement up here in New Hampshire. Also, they are not snow tires. I throw on the tried and true Nokian Hakkapeliittas when the frozen stuff starts falling.

2004 R50 Pathfinder SE 3.5L A/T Hey all, I'm searching for the cause of a loud, squealing noise, that lasts from 10-30 seconds on a cold startup. I'm sure it's one of the belts, but I'm looking for a diagram, and can't find which section of the repair manual to search in. A cursory look showed the belts to be in serviceable condition.

I use Torque Pro. I found it online for free, but they charge a small fee for it in the Play Store. The free version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torquefree&hl=enis still very good, but obviously won't offer the full range of functions. I'm not sure what you're referring to about the price range of the OBDII scanner. P.S. Be sure you're aware that the OBDII scanner you ordered is not iOS compatible, so no iPhones or iPods will work. Only works with Android via Bluetooth connections.

I've been mulling getting a cheap (~$50) Android tablet w/Bluetooth solely to run Torque. No rush, as it's as much of a novelty right now for me as anything.

I like Torque ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en) because it offers a lot more than just MPGs.

I have one of those OBDII scanners that sends a Bluetooth signal to my phone, and I use the Torque app. to monitor various sensors in my car. For shıts and giggles I plugged it into my wife's Pathfinder and took the dog for a ride to the beach. There is apparently a way to do realtime MPG monitoring in the Pathfinder, but I'm guessing it's not properly calibrated, because the values seemed a little bit high. Here's a screenshot with the vehicle running at a dashboard indicated 50mph with the cruise control ON. Road was at sea level along the coast, so flat as a pancake and straight as and arrow. We're in Galveston, TX. It's not the best spot for trails/off-roading, but as we explore more around the area, I'm sure we'll find something or someplace that'll be worth the investment. The tires that were on the truck still had about 50% tread on them, but they were so extremely weather-cracked I was worried that one or more tires would fail on the interstate. She didn't mind my suggestion, and is half-serious about wanting a mild-lift kit. I've seen that one member here has 1"-2" lifts for a really reasonable price. Also, we are able to drive out on sections of the beach here, and there can occasionally be some challenging spots (very rarely, and very small spots, but still...) so it'll be nice knowing that there are better tires on all four corners. Previously had all-season SUV/Crossover BFGoodrich touring tires on. Good road manners, and even though we hadn't had any issues with them off-road, they weren't exactly confidence-inspiring. Now to keep on searching for a nearby area to explore for overlanding/camping.

Wife's truck got some new tires. She was kind enough to let me have fun with the choice, so I suggested General Grabber AT2s. She is a generous wife.

When she, or I, order rear speakers we'll do 6.5" and when I install them, I'll probably just swap the 5.25" into the rears, and put the 6.5" in the front.

Swapped out the dead speakers with new ones, and took a few pictures of the process. On a scale of 1 - 10 this is a .7 as far as difficulty. It rained during the middle of all this, so I didn't take as many pictures as a should have. Also, I bought the wrong size speakers. I went with the fit guide from Crutchfield and they spec'd 5.25" speakers for a 2004 Pathfinder SE w/non-Bose system. I contacted them, and they have apparently updated the info to the correct 6.5" speaker size. Either way, the new front speakers work, and now my wife can enjoy her early 90's hip-hop and ****** country music (I get it... subjective tastes and all that) while I order some new speakers for the back doors, which are also dead. Anyway...

Dang, I wasn't sure what size to get, and Crutchfield's own size guide said the 2004 SE non-Bose system used 5.25" speakers. Well, I'll see how it goes.

Great reply. I see you bought 6.5" speakers, I was under the impression that the stock size was 5.25". Do you have the Bose system? I had already removed the door panel, so I understand what you mean by being careful, but firm with the window switch housings. What would you recommend I use as lube for the window gaskets? My wife is the one funding the speaker replacement project, and she drives sparingly right now (works from home, so doesn't drive daily), and she isn't a huge audiophile. I think as long as there is some sort of sound playing she'll be happy.

How long has it been overheating?
