Don't know if this has been posted before but I just encountered it and thought that it could be useful knowledge for others, and someone correct me if I'm wrong. About a week ago, the battery and brake light would come on the dash and wouldn't go away until revved above about 2800-3000 RPM's. I didn't pay much attention as I have had weird lights come on and mean nothing before. But then a few days ago they stayed on no matter what. Then the pathy died while driving laat night with the lights on. All electrical went out and it died, I'm sure you all know what happens when the alternator goes out. Almost got hit cause it was night and I was trying to push it out of the road and didn't have enough power for hazard lights.... bad situation. Anyways.... replaced the alternator today and charged the battery a bit. I've since driven it 30 miles or so and the battery and brake light are now no longer on. I can only assume that those two on at the same time is the dummy light for the alternator going bad. So the long and short of it: if the brake and battery light is coming on until you rev it up, you may want to get your alternator checked and/or replaced.

Outside Door Handle Broke
Soccerstudd5 replied to RustyButTrusty's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
I actually just did this a little over a week ago, should've taken pics I guess.... are you talking about the L shaped rod that connects to the handle? If so, the plastic piece on the bottom of it (male end) just fits into another piece (female end) by the edge of the door. It simply sits down in it and when the handle is lifted, the piece gets pushed down. Hope that helps. -
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the factory amps were in the back side panels by the hatch and what you cut the wires to was the ECU. So as Kiwi said, gotta rejoin all those wires....

Drivers Door Arm Rest Temp Fix
Soccerstudd5 replied to ac92pathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Not too shabby... -
Has anyone here had any experience with a remote start on a manual? I've seen products for the MT, but didn't know if anyone's used them and what they think about them. I'm thinking about getting one. TIA!

My fuel gage runs about the same. I've never ran in out of gas but the low fuel light has come on once and it the indicator was more than halfway BELOW the E line... I've just learned how the gage reads from driving it a lot. And yes, your mpg seems kinda low. I used to get about 15 mpg without driving sparingly and then I took a tube off the air intake and now I get about 16.5. But 12 is pretty low.

Yeah, 2 inches wouldn't be that bad on either side, but the bumper already sticks out about 1.5 inches on each side. Cutting it down shouldn't be too bad, at least for my buddy in the machine shop. I'm definitely considering it... anyone wanna donate about $200? Lol

Well I just went out and measured my front bumper and got 62". I was measuring alone so it could be off a little bit, but that's what I got. Sorry it took so long!

It allows you to start the truck without depressing the clutch if you hold the interlock switch. Even if it's in gear, so make sure you're not going to run into someone...
-
X2... that would be my first guess...

Well I emailed and got a width dimension for the bumper and it's 66.5 inches wide. It's rainy here so I'll go out and measure the pathy tomorrow, or I'm sure someone here may get antsy and beat me to it. But if not, I'll let you know what the stock bumper measures tomorrow. Could be a decently good "cheap" bumper option....

Good to know. But I think what happened is when I lifted the air box, I did push it out of the way without disconnecting anything... so that probably screwed up the wires a bit. Drove it to the store and home and never had an issue... considering it problem solved.... unless it starts acting up again. Thanks for the help guys!

Thanks for the info adamzan. Messed with the wires before I left the apartment this morning and it seemed to run fine. Haven't driven it again yet, but I think that did the trick.
-
Ok, I'll give that a try in the morning. I just went to get dinner and it ran like crap! Had to keep the outside of my foot on the gas while stopped so it wouldn't die...

I have a 94 5 speed and have been looking into getting a CAI for it soon. I had to replace the headlight bulb on the driver side today, so while I was there I started looking at the stock air box and decided to remove the tube coming out of the front of it that just narrows and ends on top of the radiator in order to get some more air flow. Can definitely tell that it's getting more air flow, but it's now running rich, puffing black smoke, and stalling intermittently. Half the time, it will idle fine while in N, and then sometimes it just starts to act up and even died a couple times. Checked the codes and got 55- No Malfunction. Any thoughts? Surely taking out that tube wasn't that big of a deal, how can it be any different from a CAI? Here's some pics of what I did. Also, thoughts on removing the resonator? Do I have to take the whole fender off to do it?

I had the same problem, ended up taking the keyless entry out as it was messing stuff up. Looking for an aftermarket one now. I would always get the confirmation chirps and everything too, but it never would unlock or lock. Hope you can get yours figured out! Good luck!

I guess what I was addressing as a "problem" is the leak...

Is this a common problem with the Thorley's or just a bad set? I'm looking at getting some in the future and would be nice to know in advance if this is common.

VH45 Swap & SAS Update (Merged Threads)
Soccerstudd5 replied to tmorgan4's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
I don't know if I would have to patience to do that... but it takes time to do that stuff right, and it looks like you're doing right! Keep up the good work! -
Check the mileage based on how many gallons you put back in. Some people have said that there gage is a little off and they really have couple more gallons after hitting E. Either way... I only seem to get 15 mpg out of my 94. There was a post of someone asking why they got bad mileage, lots of good suggestions in there.... a little search should find it easily.
-
Yeah, but that's before adding anything... I've checked out the sight and everything you add to the "basic" bumper adds up real quick! I see what you're saying about having to modify, but I have a friend that works a machine shop and always has some scrap that I could use.
-
Yeah I've seen those, but they're still kinda pricey.. comparatively speaking of the ones I'm looking at. How do you like it though?
-
That looks good. I guess that's a TJM for a Nissan? How much do they run there?
