  1. Where are you getting them from? I haven't had any luck getting a hold of anyone at RC
  2. Ok, so here's the deal.... I bought an 87 2 door with a TM 4" SL on it, but as most of you know, the TM lift does nothing more than allow for bigger tires, basically. I'm wanting a lift that can give me some more clearance, even if it means losing an inch on lift..... So my question is... is there anyway of doing this without completely switching out lift kits? Could I simply move the torsion bars back to stock location and crank them and possibly get some Rough Country UCA's, then just make the remove the rest of the front lift components and call it good? Or do you think that is more trouble than it's worth and I should keep my current set-up as is, letting my 33's give me clearance? I like how the TM lift keeps the IFS at basically stock position, but I wish I had a bit more clearance up front. Thanks for the input!
  3. Thanks for all the info, you seem to have done a lot of homework on this one. Shocks are the next thing for me to check on my pathy after I get the spacers out of there... I just find it dumb to put a 4" lift on that doesn't accomplish anything besides sitting higher. But it was on when I bought it so I'll start working with it. Thanks again!
  4. Sorry for the stupid question... but with the XJ-C lift springs, how much lift did you get over stock? You said you had XJ-C springs on before the lift springs, so was the 3" of lift additional the lift you got with just the regular XJ-C springs over stock springs? Reason I ask.... I just bought a pathfinder (my second, sold the first) that has a Trail Master 4" SL but they just put spacers on the springs and moved the bumpstop down so I don't have any additional travel and I want the same amount of lift, but with more suspension travel, and sounds like these could be the springs for me....
  5. Hey guys, does anyone know if a starter off of a 1990 pathfinder will fit on a 87? I would just look and see but I only have one close and the other is yet to be picked up from about 100 miles away.... as always, TIA
  6. When it starts locking itself like that, don't touch the handle and unlock, lock, and then unlock it again. It should work. I got this down to an art on mine and everyone who rode with me knew about it to. As it was said, this IS a common problem and there have been some write ups on it. I just found it easier to live with it since there seemed to only be a few people who actually "fixed" the problem.
  7. Mine did that all time... it got to where if I needed to warm up the car I would crack one of the back windows so I could get back in if it locked itself.
  8. Might be a stupid thing to check, but if the new brakes (assuming they're new) are disc, make sure the calipers are on the right sides. My dad is building an old car right now and was having that problem with his brakes and found out that the new calipers had the brake line coming out of the bottom (IIRC) instead of the top and when switched, they worked fine.
  9. It sure doesn't look stock height to me. I had 31x10.5x15's on mine without a lift for a few months with no problems... they looked like they were crammed in the wheel wells but they didn't rub or anything on mine.
  10. Just an FYI... I got some 5x8's in mine without having to trim anything... but you may have to
  11. Thanks, that's what it was... new connector and some crimpers and all is well again...
  12. The other night I was driving home and just as I pulled into my neighborhood (luckily) my headlights went out. So I drove the rest of the way home with my hazards on. Checked fuses and bulbs, both good. Any ideas? Also, when I looked under the dash for an loose or broken wires, I found these connectors and didn't know what they were for and if they should be connected or not.
  13. I had that problem on mine and there was a black wire that had come loose by the power connection on the battery. Simply resoldered it and plugged it back in.... problem solved. I'm guess there is a similar problem with yours. I just hope for your sake it's as easy to find as mine was.
  14. Well that's good to hear as I priced them at $10.99 from AutoZone. I will do that by this weekend and let you all know what the verdict is.
  15. Replaced the battery (still under warranty so it was free) and it started right up, but still the same idling and smoking problem. I ran the diagnostic check and got the code 55 for "No Malfunction" but there obviously is somewhere. Could it be as simple as a problem with the choke? And if so, how would something like that be fixed? I know how to fix it on a carberated vehicle, but not FI. Hoping this won't take much longer or it's going to be out! I love the pathy when it runs, but I'm getting sick of pouring money into it to keep it running instead of upgrading it like I want to. Thanks!
  16. So, I went home this weekend (from college) and left the pathy here and took the girl friend's car, and when I got back I was going to check on it, but the battery's dead. I put a new one in at the end of the summer and I didn't leave any lights on. I don't see how it could be an alternator because it ran when I parked it and when I went to drive it again, it was dead. The only thing I've recently done to it is install a new windshield wiper fluid reservoir, but that was a week ago and I don't know how that could've played a factor. I need to get someone to jump it when it stops raining and see if it'll start and check the codes and take it to autozone maybe to get the battery checked. I just didn't know if anyone had any ideas for me. You guys usually do! Thanks! The only thing I could think of is that the problems I've been having are electrical and maybe the CPU is going out?
  17. Thanks again for the help all, I won't be able to get to it for atleast a couple weeks with school and all, but I will let you know what I find out about it or if I'm going to have a pathy for sale soon.
  18. Really? Is there anyway to check that or do I just need to replace it to find out?
  19. Well it appears to be a new year with old problems. My pathy started acting like it did last time again, and currently I have 160 miles on a tank of gas and I doubt if it will make it to 185. I usually get ATLEAST 225 out of it and sometimes up to 260. Clean filter, tuned up, new O2 sensor, TPS, and fuel filter as of end of November. It ran fine all through the holidays and was starting to plan some new mods, but now I'm starting to get sick of this and thinking about getting rid of her. Haven't had a chance to run the codes for this one yet as it's FREEZING COLD outside. Any ideas? Thanks again guys for all the help! Hope someone still checks this, if not, I'll repost somewhere else.
  20. I've had my 94 recently tuned up, new fuel filter, O2 sensor, TPS, air filter's clean, and I have never got above 15.5 mpg. I don't know what's wrong with mine though, as I've had bad idling problems that get "fixed" and then mess up a few months down the road.
  21. I've had mine about a year and a half now and have never got above 15.5 mpg out of her.
  22. Well I didn't plan on doing it myself, I know someone who could do it for me. I hvaen't done much research on my pathy to see what rear end is under it, as that wasn't my main concern, but that doesn't mean I don't know anything about suspensions in general. I know a some, but most of what I'm knowledgable in the older domestic vehicles that were much more simple. And I am one that if I'm going to do something, I'm going to make sure it is done right.... whether that means I can do it or need someone else to do it for me. Thanks for the concern though.
  23. I've never heard of a H233b. What did those come on and are they stronger than the D44 and/or a better choice?
