  1. Unfortunately the alternator from the z doesn't look like it fits. However if ebay has them for that cheap and I don't need a new belt then it's going in soon. I'll be upgrade to 0awg when I do it all. Do you think the eBay ones are reliable?
  2. Indeed I do. I have found another site that makes them. 345 for 180 amp and 445 for 220 amp
  3. That is excellent information. I will look and see if the belts are the same part number for the altima and maxima. That would be way easier. In theory buy a 3.5 altima ho at and should hopefully drop in. Does anyone know if it is mounted in the same location?
  4. I actually just found this!!!!!! http://www.mechman.com/alternators/infinity/fx35/3-5l/2003-2008/g-series-270-amp-6-phase-nissan-infinity-3-5l-alternator/ It says need to run a slightly shorter belt because it has a 1.75" diameter pulley. What do you guys think? I Googled a pic of the factory alternator and it looks like the boltsong may line up
  5. Ok so I have a sound system in my pathy. It's a jl audio 300/4 and 500/1 running a jl10w7ho. I'm soon upgrading to the 12w7ho with hd750/1 amp. I also have 35 watt h.i.ds but I will be upgrading the fogs to 55watt h.i.ds. and soon there will be a 40" 300 watt light bar up top and a couple 6" on the rear.I don't use my stereo when I'm off road maybe my cb or light music. I believe the 3.5 has the 110-120 amp alternator. Well with everything on if my math is correct my amperage is 124. Obviously I won't have everything on at once. I'll probably run light bar only off road maybe occasionally headlights. And headlights and stereo on road. So I plan to do a dual battery and at the same time do the big 3 upgrade and hopefully change the alternator to have more output. 200 amps would be nice. I have heard that respinning the alternator is bad for it and the parts may not exist. So is there any high output alternators out there or any shops will to build a custom one?
  6. Awesome thanks a lot novapath does your real clear your garage? I believe it was you I was talking to a few months back before you did the ac lift
  7. Awesome you guys have been a tremendous help.I will be doing all of these things very shortly. My pathy is nearing completion. I will let you guys know how it turns out. If you guys are happy with those bilsteins I'll probably end up just doing those. Any suggestions on mounting the roof rack very low? I took the rack cross bars off. I want to mount it directly to the side rails. Is that bad if I have the sun roof? And I saw someone made some sort of 3 bolt fitting that slid into the track. I'll have to try to find it again
  8. Also do you know where I can get the brake lines and tube? I'm sure I can have wildwood make me some [they are down the street from me] what length extension?
  9. Awesome this is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you guys! Gotta love npora. Now do you happen to know the number for the shock that has the extra reservoir? Or did they not make a new one to replace those? Also how do you like these bilseins? What differences would be noticeable between my stock length kyb and these longer bilsteins? I also plan to remove my rear sway bar but I'm leaving the front on. It is my daily driver but my drive to work is 4 miles. The nearest offloading is 30-45 minutes on the freeway. From what I have read just doing the rear sway bar should be fine for on road. Do you have any experience with that as well?
  10. Hey everyone I did my ac lift about 4 months ago and put all factory spec kyb gr2 on about 6 months before that. Well I have been running the ac lift with the stock length rear shocks. I have finally gotten the money together to do my rack light bar and rear shocks on. I searched for 2 hours only to find part numbers for shocks that are discontinued. I am curious if anyone has part numbers for kyb gas adjust or bilstein. Also I heard that stock f250 shocks will work but u thought that was for the ac lift and sfd but could be wrong. Your help is appreciated. Thanks Mike
  11. so about 2 months ago (last time it rained in socal) i went up to rowher flats and found some deepish puddles of mud. i have no skid plate under neath. the water was up to the top of the front bumper but only for 5 seconds about 5 times lol. now i have a sound that sounds like a whining. the belt was replaced by a nissan master tech a year ago and appears to be good. i havent gotten underneath yet to see what is bolted onto the belt on the bottomof the motor that im guessing got submerged. the whining sound goes up and down with rpm. almost sounds like a little tiny bit of clanking sometimes. so did i ruin an alternator or power steering pump or something? i dont want to be stranded in the middle of the desert so i would like to attempt to figure out if it is ok before my next trip. any input is helpful
  12. Lol i understand your concern however im am by no means a small person. Im 6 ft 300 pds and im not fat haha. I have been doing construction as a side job for about 8 years. I have to lug 300+ pd glass panels up stairs and hoist them up balconys
  13. That would be awesome. I have a buddy with a prefacelift i can pull both of our rear quarter panels off and look at them and see if there is a difference side by side
  14. Ya thats what i figured. I can pick up a used tire from my local shop for free but if i need to replace it every 6 months its to much hassle. I have seen people add the tire swinger from older models and i happen to have one from my old 96. What would i need to do to reenforce the panel?
  15. True it might but im about to mount a Rola vortex to the roofs fab a mount to the front for a 40" light bar. So ill have a rack. Would it be a horrible idea to mount one to the rack? I have heard it makes the truck top heavy plus sun damage over time
  16. That's not a horrible idea. And it would only need to get me to a road where triple a could tow me home. Thanks for the suggestion. I may try that. Or fab a tire swing gate. In the meantime that should work
  17. Dang it that sucks. Well i have heard people dont like to put them on the roof because it makes the truck top heavy but its only like 80-130 pounds i would guess. A spare tire carrier os to much weight. Im already getting12 mpg in the city lol. A new 3" exhaust may alleviate that a bit but havent fotten that far yet
  18. Hey everyone. I have a pathy that had factory spare underneath rear. I don't have the key that goes into the crank so my local nissan dealer took it off for free considering im on 33s now and the factory spare does nothing for me. If i get a 5th 33 does anyone know if it will fit underneath again? Also if so where can i find the key? Any help is appreciated
  19. just re dipped her. last coat was on for a year and a half and when i pulled my flares off the dip came with it so i had to re spray it
  20. I have a uniden 880 bearcat peaked and tuned. I have been sitting on it for a while because i was deciding the best location which happened to be the dash. This thing is pretty big and wouldnt fit anywhere else. So in order for me to have fit it in my dash i would have had to dremel out a bit of the dash to get it in. Well when i finally took the dash offand started taking measurements i realized wow theres a lot of room back there even with all the extra wires i have run back there. So i pushed it back a little bit and voila she fits. I had to cut the factory radio mount in order to fit it in. So bere it is
  21. Also i know the sway bar end links kind of suck to tighten all the way down. Its just tedious. Make sure when you replaced them you really tightened them down all the way
  22. Grab onto the cv axle and shake it and the same with the sway bar. That's how i discovered what my rattle was. At first i thought it was only cv axles because i could move them and it would make the same noise. After that i still had a clank. Got underneath and shook the sway bar and got it to rattle a little not much. Then shook the sway bar on the passenger side where it connects to the end link and there it was. Takes 3 minutes to do that.If you confident it is neither of those things then really the only thing left is the strut bearing
