  1. Yes they are and there are 5 factory 10mm threaded plates inside the track. Find the right length 10mm bolt and screw them right in
  2. Here ya go fellas. Idk if there is aNY way to get it any lower and it is rock solid
  3. Here is how I attached the rack. It is rock solid and sits super low. I still need to pull all the clamps and paint them black hut for now it's not bad
  4. I only work 4 miles from my house and only use the freeway to go wheeling. I'm on 33s and 2" ac lift with 1"spacer and around town I pull 11-13 mpg. I suspect I pull 15-16 on the freeway but have not confirmed since I am always loaded down for camping when I hit the freeway. Cap mileage but Noone lifts their suv for good mileage lol. Also I have the 3.5 auto with 4.6 gears and lsd
  5. I also have Steve fluerys 1" strut spacers on top of ac lift springs. I by no means have a "hardcore" rock crawler but with the setup I have on 33s I have gone through some quite gnarly obstacles. I am not running any sway bars either. I have done everything from very steep rutted hill climbs to romping mud at 40 Mph to going through very rocky river beds with small boulders everywhere. The spacers have held up great so far. If you use the supplied bolts and install according to the very straight forward instructions you will have no issues. I know many people on this forum who use them. I haven't even heard of anyone breaking them before. I am not trying to bash anyone here but to say the products are crappy when they were not installed correctly is a slap in the face to steve. He has gone and done something great for all of us here who want/need affordable parts. This forum is about information and unity. And you my friend bring neither
  6. Sorry everyone got real busy since I last posted but don't worry I haven't forgotten about you. So in the last week or so I have installed the rola roof basket "low profile" and just finished installing my rear bilsteins with the ac lift. I was previously using the stock size kybs(they are sweet I can't believe I waited so long) Also ordered full memphis mclass series speakers which should compliment my jl 300 slash 4 amplifier. Now I will post pics on how I mounted the basket and what exact pieces you will need in order to do it how I did. I found a pretty clever pic of someone who used electrical conduit clamps bolted to the factory rails and I did the same and it's rock solid.it took 4 trips to home depot 3 trips to do it center and 3 trips to true value(pain in the ass plus it was 105 and I had no shade lol) Soon here I'll will be having led light bar mounts welded to the rack. I believe I will be doing the olympus offroad zues dual row gen 2 light bar. It is 44" wide.
  7. I have an idea. Rough country makes a universal light bar mount that will mount to the rola vortex. I think I have decided on the super bright leds titan 36" but that isn't a final decision lol. The light is going on no matter what so when it gets done I will certainly update and cdns4 I will defiantly look at your thread tonight
  8. Hi everyone well after a super awesome gorman run I finally decided to do the led light bar. I was thinking of buying the rola vortex roof basket and mount a 40" to it. I have been trying to think of ways to accomplish this. I haven't ordered the rack or light bar yet. The rack is 37.5" wide and the light bare is 40". Anyone have any ideas? Also where would you run the wires? I was thinking of maybe finding a way to run them down the side of the windshield into the engine compartment. UT unsure of that idea. I don't want to drill a hole in the roof. Any help or ideas are appreciated
  9. For some reason my phone didn't tell me you commented again. I'm leaving 730 tomorrow we'll in 6 hours. I'll be on channel 29. Hard to forget since that's the date tomorrow.
  10. Hey all just posting to let you know I will be in gorman the weekend of August 29th for my birthday. Will have my pathy my tundra an fj a jeep and a chevy there. Gonna get some good wheeling in if anyone wants to meet us out there. We are camping Saturday night let me know if your rolling out
  11. Hey everyone rock auto sent me an email today for a new discount code. It's 5% off and good until October 11. I get these a few times a year might as well spread the wealth lol 3471629731650065
  12. Mine makes a noise similar to that. When I went to 33s I had to trim a little by the front of the door in the fender. That created a hole that can push air through my door jam and it makes that exact noise. The bolt on the lowest point holding the fender on was loose. I tightened and now it only happens when I'm going 80 lol
  13. I think that's close to rockauto price. I literally had it in my cart and refreshed it and it took it out of my cart because it was no longer in stock lol. I would rather go through summit as well. Thanks for all the help guys!
  14. So I just looked and that acdelco is not in stock anymore. What do you think of the Atsco one in there. It's between that and a1 Cardone now
  15. Hmm maybe I'll get it from fast undercar then lol
  16. I'm going to be ordering the a1 Cardone from rockauto this Friday and the pump. It comes with inners and I believe it is already installed so hopefully they have the boots clamped already
  17. Plus I had a reason to order an impact gun that will be here on the 7th
  18. Ok do you happen to know the part number for the straps I need? And my passenger side tie rod boot is blown. Well my mechanic buddy told me to make sure that it didn't leak power steering fluid everywhere. So right then I knew what happened. About 2 months ago I went and played in a little mud and crawled some gnarly rutted hills. My steering started to feel harder but I wrote it off. Well I noticed the next day that when the motor was running it whines a little. I figured I got mud in something but I should have known better. I check my power steering tank and it's empty. So I figure if in already doing rack and pinion might as well take care of the whole steering system especially since I have been driving for a month and a half with it whining
  19. Well it looks like it's going to be full rack and pinion tie rods and power steering pump. It seems like it would be a fairly simple install. Have any of you done this or had experience with this?
  20. Do you guys know of a kit that comes with every thing I need. Or do I need to buy inner and outer at the same time
  21. So did you use the pipe wrench make it all up to the hex on the inner tie rod? It looks like if I remove the sway bar mounts I have plenty of access to them. I have never done tie rods however I have fixed everything on my truck myself. So I am mechanically inclined. I did just watch a video and it seems pretty straight forward. It's a good thing I did because I wouldn't have counted the rotations of the outer tie rod end to try to match the alignment
  22. I thought for sure it was my front sway bar but after replacing the bushings tonight the clunk is still there. I did notice when I remove the front sway bar mount the boot behind it for the tie rod is blown open and grease is everywhere. I suspect my tie rods inner and outer are bad. Does anyone know the procedure for replacing them? Do I just buy the tie rod kit? That comes with the boot? Is that all I need? Your help is appreciated. Thanks mike
  23. Well at least for now it works! Maybe it will sag a little by then and you can squeeze under it. I like the "spoiler" but idk if it is actually effective especially when I add the rola rack but oh well. I may have to remove mine as well when I hang the 6" light bars on the rear of the rack. I saw someone put them in their bumper where the reflectors go and I thought about that also but I think I'm going to make some bumpers so that idea is out
  24. Ok I would hate to order a $400 alternator and get stuck with it lol. Does anyone have experience with having a new alternator respun? I know it produces more heat but I'm not worried about that unless it presents a known issue
